Jarwin has speed to get up the field but he seems absolutely worthless as a blocker. He reminded me of the latter years Jason Witten who just yelled Ole’ as defenders tackled Dallas players he was supposed to block for.

Schultz was a solid, if unspectacular TE last night. Made the tough catches, in traffic and had pretty good situational awareness of where the sticks were, where defenders were coming from, ball protection, etc.

It’s a one game sample size, but Jarwin is playing his way off the team as a blocker.

Sorry but Witten never would have missed that goal line block on the Tampa DB. And obviously never had Jarwin’s speed up the seam but found space and was a RedZone threat. I’d love to have even twilight Witten on this team and IMO he could have been the difference on that last offensive drive. I don’t get why you have to take a pop at him.

Jarwin definitely had one horrible snap, does your evaluation dig any deeper that that one play?

I was not really impressed with Schultz up until last season, but since then, I would take Schultz over Jarwin.

Jarwin is good, but I view him more as an oversized wide receiver than a tight-end.

I like Schultz for every down tight-end and Jarwin in passing situations running more receiver-like routes from the slot.

Well before last year he only had 19 career targets
He did catch 13 of them though
I like jarwin ability to get down the seam
Schultz is a more complete TE
Neither are elite but solid players at what they do

C'mon. Witten's twilight was not good. He was a progress stopper that didn't know when to take a step back for the betterment of the team.

If you want to yearn for Witten, at least make it prime not twilight.

Same. Schultz is a legit.

That’s one of the best cases of player development we’ve seen around here in awhile.

Get it through your head, there is no Jarwin vs Schultz. They are teammates trying to accomplish the same goals of winning.

Use both to their strengths Shultz blocks Jarwin tries to imitate Megatron Shultz will have better results

I don't see it as a vs each other but as a really nice tandem that can be very good if used right. Dak, WR, and TE are what I'm the most excited about this year

Schultz is the better overall TE and underneath receiver. Jarwin is the downfield threat...although we will see how he continues to look after that injury last year (he may never be the same)

They didn't run the ball in game 1, which meant no play action. We will see who contributes more once they have a less pass-heavy game. I'm more of a Schultz fan, especially with the weapons at WR already in place

Jarwin can do things as a pass catcher that Schultz cannot, but Jarwin's missed block at the goal line turned a walk-in TD into a FG.

Obviously, that was a big play in a two-point game.
And vice versa. Jarwin is not near as good at YAC or creating separation.

Schultz proved he is a starting TE in this league last year. Jarwin, because of injury has not.
