So Tony played well in training camp and preseason with soft defenses, he is the better qb now in the regular season and for the playoffs? That's your opinion. Dak has a chemistry with the team, Tony hasn't (with this team). Dak is the better qb right now, because he has showed it in tough regular season games. Tony hasn't. Until Tony shows what he can do in a game with defenses gearing for him and can get up after being hit hard.

I will take an Elite Level QB every single day over a rookie.. any rookie.. that is not a knock on Dak at all. But Tony has proved himself over and over and over. yes, he got injured, it happens. I don't have to see Tony to know he is the better QB. He was the starter coming out of TC, he was the better QB coming out of TC.. he is the better QB today. The fact that he is on the sidelines is a travesty and one that will cost the boys a SB this year. But that was the decision, so be it. Again, i am just going to ride this ride as long as I can and root my butt off for the Boys every game.

I'll take the guy who has chemistry with the 12-2 team and 1st place in the NFC.

You're missing the full spectrum of being a successful QB. Yes, in a silo Romo is a better QB than dak. When considering daks intangibles (ie toughness, running ability, ball security, etc) , you have to see the value, that romo couldn't, dak brings this 2016 team? They're 12-2 with xyz secured

Chemistry is such a useless thing. To play as if Tony wouldn't be successful because of "chemistry" is just stupid. I mean really, is Zeke not going to be able to take a hand off and run if Tony is the one handing it to him? Think Dez has forgotten how to catch a football that Tony has thrown, or the line can't block for him? Look, if you like Dak, I get it, he has been amazing for a rookie, I am not trying to knock on him or what he has done. But to use things like Chemistry is nonsense, to me. I like Dak too, I am thrilled he appears to be the future at the most important position. But if we were going to play the best players, then Tony would be playing. The coaches decided to make the change and go with the future, hard to fault them, but in the history of the SB era, no Rookie has led his team to the SB, let alone win one. It could happen and I pray it does, but the odds say it won't and we will go home with the best QB sitting on the sidelines watching.

Just as I could say you ignoring it is just as stupid. As for no rookie leading a team to a SB, Romo hasn't been there either as a vet. You want Tony, I want Dak. Let's move on.

I'm not missing anything. The only thing Dak has on Romo is ability to run faster. Ball security?? Please,,, he has 4 interceptions and 9 fumbles, so far. Not any more secure with the ball than Tony, just different ways to lose it. There is only one thing Dak brings that Tony doesn't and that is his legs. Tony is reads Defensive s better, throws better and understands the game better. Which is to be expected, Dak is a rookie.

Only thing I will say is, that i played 14 years of Football and coached for 5 others.. chemistry is a waste of time to talk about.

I don't care who plays QB.. I just think Tony is the better QB and was shafted. But I have nothing but love for Dak and what he is doing.

Romo has been getting reps with the #1s since he's been declared healthy. I don't think he'll be as rusty as folks seem to think. But alas, I want Dak to get all the snaps he needs. Folks acting like he's the 10-year veteran with injury problems. No, he's still the rookie with only 14 games under his belt. Play the man.

I agree, I also think with every thing locked up Dallas has a chance to open things up a bit and let these guys go out and have some fun. Not getting away from our base offense too much but let Dak give this car some gas.

Well, Dak is stil a rookie, who still needs all the experience he can get. IIRC, when Romo was starter, they never rested him either. So this isn't about Romo, this is about how they have traditionally managed their starters in the past.

Looks like you got your panties in a wad over nothing.

We play Dak for all 8 quarters of 2 meaningless games and he gets injured at some point, the meltdown on this board would be epic. EPIC, I tell you.

we have different opinions. It's win or go home in the playoffs and if Romo is needed, I think it's more important to get him some real game-speed action over the next 2 weeks where the outcomes have zero implications for us. Rather he be prepared than rely past practice for the sake of following precedent.
I have to agree, they need to let him play some, just to see what he looks like in real game, and get him ready.
He may not be needed , but then again dak could get hurt.
If that was to happen tony needs to be as ready as possible.

It does depend on how the game goes, if it is 17-14 dallas at start of 4th, then they may keep dak going .
If it is 31-14 then Romo will come in.
Thing is if that is the case, tony will just be handing off the ball, and that wont get him ready.

Lets say we get to SB, tony has not played since PS.
We are playing NE, and dak gets concussion, in 3rd qtr and in comes romo, NE leads 17-14.
At that point they may wish they had let tony play some in a real game, cause I dont think
Tony will do well having not played all year, and against a smart defense.

But who knows, It is up to JG, I will just wait and see what he does, and what happens later on.

I've skimmed the thread. Someone reassure me. People aren't really advocating that Romo never see the field over the next 2 games, right?

Please tell me this isn't happening. People actually want to risk Dak out there for all 8 quarters of 2 meaningless games?

Am I misreading what people are saying?

I learned the hard way. Tony Romo is a great and flirting with elite QB, and seems like a super good guy.....we just can't count on him anymore. And I think daks impact is more than just the offense, they all rally around him.

I don't know, maybe people are confused here. Nobody is saying sit Dak for all 8 quarters of the next 2 meaningless games. Let him play 2 1/2 of each, then bring Romo in for the last 1 1/2 quarters of the game.

Our backup QB going into the playoffs, let's get him some game action. Or would it supposedly be a better idea if Dak goes down during a playoff game and then we send Romo out there for his first game action since the preseason?

Some people are so desperate to never again see Romo take the field in a Cowboys uniform I think it's clouding their thinking.

Romo will see some game time. We all know it.

Well it isnt us lol it is up to JG, how long dak plays.
He already said dallas will play to win, and detroit really needs to win this game, so it will be close.
I doubt tony plays, and if he does like if we get way ahead, he will just be handing off and running the clock out.

That's what I'm saying. Let him do mop up duty, but get him some real game time out there before the playoffs start. Especially in the Eagles game, where nobody has anything to play for.

I'd be pretty uncomfortable heading into the playoffs when my back up QB hasn't seen the field in a live game since Week 2 of the preseason.
