Uh...that's what message boards are for, opinions. It's the teams opinion that Dak has a chemistry with the team that Romo doesn't have right now.

Has the team stated that is their opinion?

Of course the board is for expressing opinions, but look at what you said to the person in the post I quoted.

Dak, Jason Witten, Dez, Jason Garrett, etc. And the OL has talked about the chemistry they have with Dak and Zeke.

And there is this article back in November...

The belief within the team is that this squad has developed a unique chemistry -- even better than that of the 2014 team Romo led to a 12-4 record.

That's what I'm saying. Let him do mop up duty, but get him some real game time out there before the playoffs start. Especially in the Eagles game, where nobody has anything to play for.

I'd be pretty uncomfortable heading into the playoffs when my back up QB hasn't seen the field in a live game since Week 2 of the preseason.

AMEN bro...what the hell is going on at VR? They are being so careful with Tony and his 'feelings'. I refuse to believe he's that mentally fragile. Play him 2-3 qtrs vs. the Lions and Eagles and sharpen him UP for the playoff run. Can't believe how badly they're mismanaging this. Jebus, use your heads guys.

You know what they are afraid of right ? There afraid Romo goes out there n lights it up causes a QB controversy right before the playoffs. Then they go back to Dak n he craps his pants in the playoffs which is likely. Then the media will rip Garrett. I don't expect to see Romo unless Dak gets injured.

Won't be the team or coach Garrett (if Romo plays well in mop up duty). A qb controversy on a message board, that's it.

Mop up wont help him , he really needs to pass , and play when game is in question, or let him have the phil game.
Start dak and then bring tony in 2nd qtr, and let him win the game.

Or they could surprise detroit by starting tony, they would have prepared for dak not tony.
Then if he plays poorly put dak in. otherwise let tony win the game.

But I think they will play dak whole game in detroit, then maybe they play tony late in phil game.

I doubt tony would light it up ,tony hasnt played since the carolina game in 2015 !!
But if he did it wont cause any problems.

Dak n he craps his pants.......

Well I think those are canned responses, truth is tony hasnt played since the carolina game in 2015 !!!!!!!
And sure he can walk out there and play, but he is going to be rusty.
a coach directly contradicts all the concerns that you might have about Romo and his rustiness...and it's canned. Mind you, he's been saying it since Room came back, but whatever. I worry about the starter playing, not the backup. Lol

That's a double edge sword though WG. If Dak got nicked up during the playoffs and the backup had to come in you wouldn't want Sanchez it would be Romo. I think that would be foolish if Romo hadn't played in a game all year and throw him cold into a playoff game.
This reminds me of a situation that played out with Mack Brown and the Texas Longhorns in 2010. I was a junior at UT at the time. All year long the Longhorns were blowing out teams and inserting the backup (Garrett Gilbert) at the ends of games. The thing is Mack Brown was always overly concerned about the perception of running up the score on opponents and making sure to win in a classy fashion, so he never allowed Gilbert throw the ball and run the normal offense to, ya know, gain experience in case he's needed down the line. Well the national championship comes around and lo and behold, Colt Mccoy gets knocked out of the game in the 1st quarter by Bama DT Marcell Dareus. Insert GG. The 5 star held his own but not after taking awhile to knock off the rust. There is a lot of regret till this day in Longhorn nation about how Mack handled Gilbert during the season because that Bama game was still winnable if the kid hadn't entered the game so "green".

Romo needs to play in case we need him due to a Dak injury or Dak "deer in the headlights" moment. It's not fair to Romo to expect him to come in under those scenarios and win us a game without any playing experience in 4+ months.

Jason Garrett's message and demeanor are right on. Division champ and #1 seed are not something worth celebrating, they are the Dallas Cowboys and set a standard of one and only one goal.

Their accomplishments up to now are a means to an end. This gives them the best playoff positioning and increases the probability of the real goal.

This was the way of the 70's. The regular season was always little more than qualifying rounds to obtain good seeding for the real Cowboy season....the postseason. Those are the games that history remembers.

Play to win and play for Zeke yards...258 of them....
And if he blows his knee do you stand by this post? I would love to see Zeke break the record too but it would be insane to try for it.

Exactly. You can't just drop him in and expect him to perform at peak capacity. They need to make sure he has at least 3 qtrs in the eagles game. And I hope the 4th qtr in the Lions game as well

You are turning those statements into something they are not. And oddly assuming Romo is not a part of the team chemistry.

well WG, he cant say Romo is healthy but not ready, he has to say what he said.
And he may believe it.
I think any player that misses 6 games or more needs some playing time to get back in a groove.
Tony has been out a long time.
He will be ok, but could make some mistakes, due to rust.
I think dak should make it thru playoffs ok, so maybe it doesnt matter.

It would be absolutly ridiculous if Romo did not get in the games the next 2 weeks. Supposedly he's our back up who hasn't had any real game experience in over a year. Besides, he's healthy.....WTH, is Romo royalty? jeeze

It would be disrespectful to trot Romo out there with a bunch of backups.

I did not turn team statements into fools gold Einstein. That's you. Romo's chemistry is holding a clipboard on gameday.

The one guy I seriously think about sitting down is Zeke. I know he wants the record, but giving him 20+ carries in the last two games is risky.

If he gets tackled weird and tears an ACL, we are done...........yea, it could happen in any game, but you hate for that game to be a glorified practice.
