I thought he played really well in his first game. I would like to see him deliver the big hit at times ala Ryan Shazier, and not be just a wrap-up tackler only. Huge hits lead to forced fumbles and dropped passes. He did have a nice forced fumble that should have counted because many of DeMarco Murray's fumbles happened the same way.

All in all a great start and huge production from at least six of our 2016 draft class.

I hope as the season goes on, Marinelli will be more aggressive with him. I'd like to see him make more plays in the backfield or around the line of scrimmage. The scheme last night seemed to have him drop back, recognize, and react and it led to plays that were 5+ yards downfield. I want to see them use his speed and explosiveness to go be disruptive at the line. All in all, great debut and I couldn't be happier for him and all of us who will get to watch such a great young man with an inspirational story play most of his career.

While he still has some room for improvement, I think we can stop talking about the brace. The kid is a heck of an athlete.

Garrett didn't botch anything. I was going to challenge but the ref said that the play was blown dead so there was nothing to challenge.

I agree a botch would be insisting on it and lose a TO. Ref blew the call but once they claim the whistle was blown the play is dead.

I agree he played much more than the boys let on before the game, I believe on radio I heard at most he would play half the snaps, that clearly was not the case not sure if that had to do with Durant or how well Smith was playing. The thing about his injury is that the next day will provide lots of feedback and hopefully he can push through that pain and be available on thursday against the Broncos.
Thursday?

He looks like Ray 'Killa' Lewis!

The Killa in Ray's name has nothing to do with real life incidents

There is no factual evidence (not to my knowledge at least) that the ref blew the play dead...that's all speculation by Collinsworth..

As a matter of fact, the shear fact that the refs went through the pile and awarded the ball to the Giants would suggest the play was not blown dead

Looking at the box score - Sheppard was credited with a fumble..so it was not ruled dead
