Are we coming up with a nickname for Jaylon and Sean?

I nominate Sons of Thunder (from the Bible).

He was better than a seasoned Hitchens, that's for sure. Give him time to slow things down in his head, and he'll be a monster.

I am curious if anyone has watched his isolated play in game 1. It seems liked he did OK from the game telecast.

I also noticed they subbed Durant in some on 3rd down. Was that the primary rotation? Smith on 1st and 2nd down and Durant on 3rd down?

I saw good and bad. By the time Hitchens is ready (maybe week 4) everyone will have good idea of where Jaylon is. Just too soon.

No. It doesn't. I was wondering because it really seems like he's moving so much better than we saw against the Colts and Raiders.

I thought maybe the brace was off and that was why. If it is off, that also is an indication he's almost 100 percent.

Again....just wondering.

brace was still on and he still has foot drop. Nothing has changed on that front. I thought Dallas did great job of keeping Sean Lee close to him. What I liked was Jaylon conditioning was excellent considering this was most he played in two years. I still notice the hitch in his running and his missed tackle by RB is concern if its the foot and not him just over-running play. We should know by time Hitches returns if Jaylon is asset or liability on field.

Can someone please explain how it is at all relevant to this discussion what Miles Jack did? Is he a Dallas Cowboy? Who cares how many tackles he had yesterday.

I'm curious to see how Jaylon reacts to his first extended action. I'm sure there will be soreness....hopefully, no real swelling.

Exciting to see him last night.

You haven't seen nothing yet with Jaylon. I still want to know where all the pessimists on this forum are hiding, saying he will never play again, and what a waste of a pick. How is the crow tasting these days?

They were showing a lot of Jaylon Smith replays on the broadcast last night. He's definitely looking good.

There is no evidence at all to suggest what the ref told Garrett..you are taking what CC said as Gospel..and to be frank, his interpretation of what transpired was dumb

if we're going with the "no evidende at all" then why are you so certain what happened?

it was a clear fumble with a clear recovery, and Garrett was standing there ready to throw the flag, had a conversation with the ref and didn't. what do you suggest happened?

and the box score is really irrelevant since it wasn't ruled a fumble on the field.

wow. that jags defense as a whole balled out yesterday. very impressive.
yes it was. we'll see if they are for real or not these next 4 weeks. Mariota, Flacco and Big Ben are the QB's...not Savage...:lmao:

true true. 10 sacks is 10 sacks though. their core was already impressive and on the rise, and adding campbell, church, and only improves things. but yeah a regress to the mean is likely in their future.

Garrett talked about the play in his PC. Giants fumbled but it was ruled that the Giants recovered the fumble.

Garrett was talking to the ref about challenging. Ref told him the Giants recovered and the chances of the call being overturned virtually nil.

Garrett did the right thing.

Jaylon will wear the brace all year, and will begin working without it next off-season.

He won't be back to 100% confidence until next year -- it almost always takes an athlete a full year to get back to a true 100%, even if their body is 100%.

That said...WOW. That play where he exploded on the end around and tackled the ball carrier? DAT SPEED THO.

Agreed. We won't see how special this player can be until 2018. For now he's still a good player learning on the fly.

I thought I saw Lee clearly recover the fumble.

You can't coach speed and explosiveness. This guy is the impact player we needed on defense. He's virtually a rookie and not a full speed. Can you imagine this guy when he's seasoned and 100% healthy? I predict a Haley/Deion type impact from Jaylon this season to carry us all the way to the game that'll be played on Feb. 4 at US Bank Stadium.
