Jaylon Smith nerve regenerating

I don't believe he got $5MM. The $5MM was if he never played again. He got $700M for slipping out of the first round and was taken with the top pick in the 2nd round. Every spot in the 2nd he slipped, he would get another $100M. So he ended up getting $900M.
He got almost a billion dollars? That's the best insurance policy ever written.

But you also pay only 7M over 4 years rather than 25M plus over those 4 years plus top 10 position money on a 5ht year extension.
This is true, but those two years of team control do matter. It's not as simple as saying, "we got a cheap 2017 1st-rounder."

thanks for the info......I heard it was a straight 5m....either way he did OK for such a bad injury with over 4m guaranteed and the insurance.......not 20m OK but enough to live on comfortably

Am I the only one slightly offended by his choice of words? He can outperform guys that have been doing this since OTAs? Because the only defensive player we have that is somewhat playing at an elite level is Sean Lee. He has never tackled someone in a NFL practice! Let alone a regular season game! Let alone a playoff game! He has not tackled anyone at any level in over a year! So I admire confidence and swag....but have some respect for what it takes to play at this level!
Yes. lol

First, I was responding to your comment about him saying he would participate in OTAs, which is speculation until they actually start.

Second, given things like this...

...I'm not going to read too much into what Jaylon says about his status. He hasn't actually said in a straightforward way, "I'm regaining feeling," so far as I know.

Fair enough. I think he knows what his body feels like better than anyone else but we also don't have the full report yet.

He's on IR, just not eligible to return because he would need to be on IR for 6 weeks to be able to return.

Why wouldn't the team list him on IR then? There is a distinction, just like there is for PUP.

Regardless, we've established he can't come back this season no matter how healthy he is.

and he gets to train and learn all year in Dallas while rehabbing instead of sitting in South Bend being broke

Jesus Christ

I'll take this as more substantive than last week's, "I saw Jaylon at Best Buy and he looked great".

But I still want more substance....ultimately 230 pounds of JS's substance on a field in full game speed. Maybe in May.
He just ran a 4.5......is that fast enough for you

until I see him on the field, the only thing I see is

Hallelujah and Amen!

teams don't often update websites

JSmith is on the IR ....he was on the NFI until he started practicing.... when he wasn't activated after 3 weeks he put on the IR

same with Hanna.....he was moved to the IR after his second surgery and11 weeks on the PUP

McFadden was activated from the NFI to the roster

Only 1 person can come back from the IR but they have to active for the final 53 man rosters before the season....... JSmith was never eligible for that.....just like KMoore

This is more a question than a statement, but I thought since he was on NFI from the beginning that that year doesn't count toward the four year contract. I realize I may very well be wrong on that, but that's what thought. Does someone have the straight scoop on that?
