No problems here. How's that corncob? You able to sit down at all?Hey there. Good to hear from you. How’s the IBS these days? Lots of fiber and exercise is the key.

When MM said we want the best overall players than elevate them asking them what they do best... that excites me.Totally agree. I am just referring to what happened and not due to specific players or the scheme. Hopefully the new coaches adjust better and the newly acquired players perform better.
What's clear is you didn't watch the videos.Which is it? You said Jimmy never wanted them taking on blocks and I was stupid because I disagreed. Then you said they do take on blocks. Which I originally said was very important to play the position but you said I was stupid to suggest that. In fact I specifically mention filling gaps. So am I stupid or did I just save you?
Either way 54 tries real hard to avoid engaging and shredding blocks. He likes to run around and prance.
The Colts exposed this defense before the Rams did. With all of the stunting and slashing from our front four, they were susceptible to quick cut backs up the middle.
Our DT's were on the smallish side by NFL standards. And our linebackers weren't tenacious against the run. So both the Colts and Rams just kept handing the ball off.
.

So we are arguing about things you haven't a clue of because you are speaking in a thread about videos you didn't watch.
As to specifics I played in a Jimmy 4-3 in college. The DC was out of that coaching tree and coached DBs for w Wanny with the Bears.
Miami 4-3 LBs are playmakers who are smaller/faster by design.
He has 220 pound MLB.
The entire team converged on the ball.
They didn't fill holes but instead shot gaps.
But I also played in 3-4 and 4-4 and other schemes including as a 3-4 OLB and 4-3 MLB.
I understand the very basic tenets of football which seem to be eluding you.
If you watch the video he clearly describes how this scheme was devoid of concern for the Line of Scrimmage.
That's the entire point.
LB play simply doesn't work that way. At LB you either attack or you read and react.
Read and React died off because once OL became actual year round professionals they murdered LB sitting back on their heels.
With attacking you can attack either the gap, a man, or a zone.
If you are dropping back into pass coverage you NEVER then take on blocks.
That is what I am calling stupid.
A LB can and should beat any OL in space.
ONLY when they clearly lose that battle do they occupy the OL.
Jimmy had a quote about himself doing this at Nose Tackle!!!
“He rolled me up the first play,” Johnson said. “I didn’t take him on the rest of the day. I went around his blocks after that and had one of my best games.
The concept stuck for Jimmy and he took the dinosaurs out at LB and ushered in an era of speed LBs that defeated blocks by not being where the OL were going or beating them to spots.
A 230-250 pound LB is not supposed to square up with 315 pound OL and win that battle in a modern NFL.
that will never happen, They will have to take on blocks at some point. any team that run power and counter runs will have a pulling BS gaurd that can lead up to the LB. any uncovered OLineman can combo up to the LB as well. We’re apparently going to install a scheme where linebackers will never have to take on a block.

My question is, if you don't like Jaylon Smith, what are you going to do about him? Explain how you're going to replace him, don't just sit there like a bunch of whinny spoiled Cowboys fans just to be the winner of the internet. Have an answer, and then relay that message to Jerry Jones (who actually has say) and PRAY that he listens to YOU.

Bradie James is a great analogy as far as being overrated. I have never seen a LB so enthused about dodging blocks to take himself out of a play and jumping on a pile of players after the whistle has blown only to get up and look for high fives in my life. That was also a terrible contract extension.Jaylon Smith is limited in what he can do. My expectations of him are on the same level as Bradie James. Everyone kept saying "hE mAdE tHe PrObOwL" and I kept thinking "I dont care". You can just see the reach of overrating some players and Jaylon is this guy. What people saw of him in 2019 I saw the same in 2018.
I was one of his biggest defenders, never saying he won't recover, but 2019 pretty much sealed it for me. I'll go on to say there's something off about him. He plays light on the feet too much and if he looks the same in 2020 we need to move on. If he's still recovering then we need someone else to take over until he's not a liability.
You alright, there Dre?
Just asking, because I know your smart enough to realize CalPoly was being sarcastic. So I just wanted to check on you.
Pot, kettle, blackNow we're Jaylon HATERS.....dang some of you need to smell the roses and chill....
