Well, I thought Spence has a shot at being good (particularly in Marinelli's defense) but I don't think Dallas was going to take him at all because of recent events with Gregory, Hardy, etc.

.

Spence was the pick but his off the field takes him off the board

But that's the deal, they decided to go with the two guys they could trust, Dr Cooper & Jaylon Smith rather than add another guy they could not trust.

i understand why they made the decision my beef is they turned away from that logic and selected prescott right after he got a dui...

He's highly unlikely to play in 2016.

Thanks for the news, Captain (Ed Werder) Obvious.

I'm not going to overreact to this, the rest of you uninformed lot can do that

I'm just going to wait for the most reliable source, Dr @FuzzyLumpkins to do another Google search and tell me the odds of his playing this year

No, you're just going to overreact about me. I always find it amusing the amount of people that go out of their way to say they don't have to listen to me.

Do you know anything about Prescott? He could be the poster boy for the RKG.

True. Everybody loves the guy. His team would have set itself on fire for him and every fan that interacted with him here in Mississippi absolutely adored the guy.

Frankly I'm shocked that any police officer in the state would arrest him, lol.

I will add that taking Prescott with what was essentially a 5th round pick was incredible value, IMO. The guy has all the intangibles to lead a team and he has "it" in spades.

All he needs to do is have the physical ability to read the defense and make the throws and he's going to be a good QB in the NFL. Now maybe he never gets good enough but if he does... the guy is going to be a really good player.

If you ask me, what he already has is the most difficult thing to find in an NFL QB.

He said last week that they test the news every week and that last week it didn't show anything. People just acknowledged it and moved on.

Fast forward to this week where they again test it and it has not activated and people freak out.

I guess because it was in a tweet and set expectations. Don't let an ESPN tool wag you. It's embarrassing.

The only thing regarding Smith that would be news for the next 4-5 weeks is if the nerve actually did start firing. The original timetable given by the doctor put the earliest that might happen in late July. If we get into mid August and get nothing, I may begin to get concerned.

What is worse is that the follow up tweets from Werder basically shows the first one was uncalled for.

Bad draft pick for need. Jerry keeps spoon feeding that "we're trying to win now".

But, he's so young and such a talent that I'm sure he'll be good. Just needed an immediate contribution with that pick.

Jerry likes to roll the dice, and often comes up snake eyes. 4-12 season, can't be taking these luxury picks.

"Significant improvement" is just about the worst possible way to phrase Smith's progress from the injury because it suggests the recovery is a gradual process where you could expect some improvement from day-to-day, week-to-week, or month-to-month.

But that nerve is going to be like a light switch: It's either on or off, there is no in between.

Waiting for the light in a dark room to "significantly improve" without flipping the switch is a fool's errand.

If that's the case, then it is information that we should all be clear on. I hadn't realized that, but it certainly seems plausible. Think of how many fewer arguments, articles, and Twitter posts we'd see if everyone understood this aspect. Great analogy btw.

I agree. He has all the intangibles.

Now all he needs is physical ability.

Great pick!

what a misleading pile of you know what. Not even the surgeon expected "significant" improvement in short time. Nothing and I mean nothing has changed here.
