I have a feeling that LB Jaylon Smith and TE Rico will play very well for the Cowboys this year. But, fret not haters, I am sure there will be some other 2017 draft pick the haters can whine about. Maybe the haters will get lucky and the Cowboys will draft Mich TE Butt in the 3rd round. Notice I specifically said 3rd round for Butt because drafting Butt in the 2nd round would be just too much red meat for the haters.

Rapoport's source is most likely Stephen Jones. Stephen obviously keeps in contact with Jaylon Smith. Stephen says "he thinks" Jaylon can play with a brace. Does that inspire confidence? The writing's on the wall.

There is no writing on the wall. It is up to Smith to go out and prove himself. I look forward to him doing just that. I would also note again the player knows what is going on over anyone else. I just came off spinal surgery no one knows more about how I am doing or feeling than me.

Smith has talked about it. Yes he tweeted some work outs as well to show how he is progressing. This is bad how? Are trying to say he photo shopped his head on the body of a guy who is moving around pretty damn good and is running a 4.5? lol I'm not claiming anything but the man who knows his body more than any of us has. In the end firing nerve or not it falls to him to go out and do it and I for one will not root against the guy or act as if I know more than he does about his own body.

i want lots of articles of Stephen and Jerry telling me that we are gonna upgrade this defensive line come hell or high water. I want reports of free agent defensive linemen from other teams spotted in Frisco around IKEA. I want them to be grinding to get a trade deal for Romo.

Realistically, I'm sure all of this is being done. All the good stuff starts in 7 days, when free agency begins. Until then there's not much that can be done free agent wise.

I know I'm being premature in my frustration.

Not much is going to be done until right before March 9th when the FA markets open up. Cowboys can't go out and sign anyone expect for their own and I'm sure Cowboys know who they intend on bringing back and who they will let hit the market.

Yeah this is the one time I disagree. Kid is full of sunshine and optimism. If his leg was severed, he'd try to convince you he'd be playing within 8 months.

Also, he has nothing to prove at this point b/c this issue is out of his control.. He's done his part by working his ***, nerve was supposed to start firing in mid-Nov, no change.

Truth is there isn't much hope for the DL in terms of outside additions. Ware plus rookies is most likely IMO.

People hate rappoport around here! Why is that? I think he's cool, but why do so many zoners hate him. He's just reporting news

When people read things they don't like they shoot the messenger. "It's all Rappoports fault."

The hue and cry about him when he reported that Gregory was about to get another suspension was overwhelming. When it turned out that Rappoport was right, all we heard were crickets.

And if he is right this time (I don't know if he right or not) all you will hear is tumbleweed blowing in the wind.
