I'd take Jaylon w knee brace and all playing than half jags we have.

The question is not "would you take Jaylon over our jags?", it's "Would you give a high second round pick, a number 34 overall pick, for Jaylon when he can't even put a sock on easily after a whole year of rehab and healing supervised by the best doctors in medicine?"

"He's (Jaylon Smith) been more than we could have hoped for. mentally, physically, work ethic, leadership." - JJ (winks, takes a long swig of JW Blue, ponders next high risk, no reward player in round 2 of draft)

This thread is just people posting tweets confirming their bias on both sides of the argument.
That's exactly what it is. Either way I just hope the kid can get back to playing. Kid deserves it. Was supposed to be top pick in NFL draft

Yeah this is the one time I disagree. Kid is full of sunshine and optimism. If his leg was severed, he'd try to convince you he'd be playing within 8 months.

Also, he has nothing to prove at this point b/c this issue is out of his control.. He's done his part by working his ***, nerve was supposed to start firing in mid-Nov, no change.

Well you can disagree that is your choice. I believe in giving him the benefit of the doubt on how he is feeling and doing over some unnamed source. Before people start saying they think it is Stephen who is the unnamed source that is nothing but a guess and frankly I'm tired of fake news and guessing.

Another great offseason coming. Jaylon's nerve not firing. Romo released without getting draft picks. Signing no free agents other than our own trash defenders. And a much tougher schedule looming. Jeez
You forgot to mention all this on the heals of blowing a golden opportunity this past year...so is the wait till next year crowd planning for the year after already??

Regenerating is fine but really doesn't mean anything. It should have been done regenerating 6-7 months ago. It could fully regenerate and never fire. The keyword to look for is refiring not regenerating. He needs to be able to shed the brace or it was a wasted pick.

Except Jaylon said he's getting "feeling" back in his leg. That's "firing". Whereas he felt nothing before because the nerve was dead, he's now starting to feel sensations. That's what a nerve is supposed to do, carry "feeling" messages to the rest of the body and activate biological responses.

Stephen Jones said it yesterday in the Stephen Jones comments thread . Good enough for me.
What did he say? That he "should" be able to play in a brace? Regardless. That's fair...we won't know for sure until training camp

This is exactly why I warned not to get excited about him. There's been conflicting reports for months on his nerve firing. Just yesterday on NFLNetwork Jane Slater reported his nerve was firing. Naturally the Cowboys are going to attempt to play him at least at they're saying that now so he won't be a complete waste of a draft pick but if his nerve never fires it's highly unlikely he's going to be close to the player the Cowboys were hoping for. I'm still not totally convinced he'll ever see game day on the field. We'll just have to see how he looks in training camp. The team may decide he can't do the things necessary to play effectively. This is why teams were passing him up. I hope we've learned our lesson and will stop gambling second round picks on injured players and drug addicts.

I don't think Smith is inclined to talk about it.

He would rather Tweet out video of him working out and talk about how blessed he is.

He talked to the Dallas Morning News reporter in January?

Until he suits up and plays well I am just going to assume he never plays a down for us. Easier that way
