He'll be selling insurance this time next year.

The kid has skill and is a pretty good open field tackler. He struggles in one vs one coverage and is above his head in talent. The kid isn't a bad special teams player or a bad safety in a pinch.

I think the kid has a place in the league. Some guys shouldn't be starting, but it doesn't mean they can't be contributors in some fashion. Heath might be a special teams demon... maybe? But when you bank on stuff such as Matt Johnson, you get fun things like Jason Avant playing Megatron.

heath is no starter that for sure but he is a good special teams player. if we can draft a good safety to start then having heath for special teams would be good. I do not want to see heath starting anymore but he will have a spot on some teams if not the cowboys because he can play special teams well.

Not having a safety who can adequately cover the middle/deep third in pass coverage probably cost us 50 yards per game. Not only in 1-on-1 coverage but all those crossing routes and slants where the S in zone coverage failed to make a play on the ball or the tackle. That inability killed the pass defense consistently all year long.

This safety thing is taking as long to fix as the O Line. While other teams get things completely turned around we seem to move at a snails pace. The last time I felt like we had a veteran safety that knew what he was doing was Hamlin and they let him go.

I see no skills. Well except for just being in the right place at the right time to get a turnover. He has no ball skills at all.

He's fast and you can't teach fast. He seems to be always around the ball, but when it's in the air he needs to learn to look up, or something other than just looking helpless while the catch is made. Our safeties have been abused by Hail Marys for years, it didn't start with Heath. They always seem to arrive late and have no idea where the ball is. Ask Eli.:)

In any case, the question is if Heath is one of the worst players in football, and I just don't think that is the case. He is certainly substantially below the median, though.
