I think, knowing Jerry's ego, the "consultant" would be the defacto GM. He will tell Jerry how to run the show, Jerry will run the show that way, and then take the credit because after all, he is still GM.

And frankly, if the "consultant" is okay with that, I am all for it. Whatever it takes to get Jerry to stop playing Madden with our team.

The one chink in Holmgren's armor has been his personnel work. He was a failure in Seattle as Head Coach/GM. Getting him involved in our personnel process doesn't really excite me.

I think "chink in the armor" understates it a bit. I cannot get behind the hiring of a personnel man who was responsible for picking Brandon Weeden last year.

Jeff Sullivan ‏@SullyBaldHead There are talks of not only bringing in an offensive coordinator, but a consultant, much in the way Dan Reeves was supposed to be in 2009.

If I were going to bring in a consultant to fix the offense, I would try to find a defensive coordinator that coached against Garrett. He would know all of Garrett's weaknesses.

There is something called a "growth mindset" that welcomes challenge, fialure, and opportunities to learn from others in order to grow and develop your own skills beyond their current limits.

I know it sounds crazy, but IF this scenario were to play out, perhaps he wouldn't see it as totally emasculating him as some here seem to think.
