Jeremy Lin > Carmelo Anthony?

No, the question is are you being serious?? Have you ever heard of Kevin Durant?

Durant >>>>>>>>> Crapmelo

Defense isn't even in Carmelo's vocabulary. While he can score and rebound, defense is his achilles hill. (which makes him a perfect fit for Mike D'Antoni. Notice the Suns could never win with D'Antoni) You've got to play defense if ou want to win a Championship. That is something Carmelo doesn't do.

When he's in the mood to play D, he can. He's just rarely in the mood.

I've never seen him play defense in my life. Of course, I haven't been watching the NBA for the last couple of years except when I'm passing through a room where the wife is watching it. (She has NBA League Pass)

Lin is not better than Carmelo. That fact that people are willing to debate this does give me comfort though. Some of you are not just 'NUTS' about Cowboy related affairs, you are just 'NUTS' in general.

D'Antoni's system is point guard friendly. Felton had a good run last year also. Now, this Lin guy has come out of no where and I like what he has done, but its only 5 guys. I think he went 1-13 from the floor last night. I think he is a good player, he likes to pass the ball and works good off the pick-and-roll, again which is a mainstay of D'Antoni's system.

Lin is in a system that fits his skill set. I'm off the opinion that he will not average 25 pts per game for the balance of his career and I do not think he will single-handedly carry any team to the championship game.

For any of you that thing Lin>Carmelo; I have some Ocean Front Property to sale you in Nebraska. No really, I do.... PM me and I will give you a great deal.
;)

Lin's biggest asset that I've seen is his speed. He is basically playing Steve Nash's role in D'Antoni's scheme. It would be the same role that JJ Barea would play if he were a Knick. JJ would surely flourish like Lin is in that system.

Will Lin become a mainstay superstar outside of China? That is highly unlikely. It's highly unlikely that he even makes the All-Star game next year.

:lmao2: :lmao:

You think Jeremy Lin is better then Carmelo Anthony... Thats all I need to know, no point in arguing with you if that is what you actually believe. I can't believe people even contemplate this... One of the best scorers in NBA history vs guy with 15 career NBA games, with a career average of 7 PPG.

Edit: Sorry, let me rephrase. 1) Lebron 2) Kobe 3) Durant 4) Carmelo

Are you drunk or just smoking crack?

Nowhere did I saw Lin was better than Carmelo. I attacked your asinine statement saying Carmelo was the second best small forward in the league. I corrected you by naming Durant who is EASILY better than Carmelo. (not even partially debatable)

Reading comprehension buddy. Go take a class.

I edited my post.

BTW next time why don't you be a little more specific... you know, bold the prt that you disagree with. How the hell am I supposed to know what you're referring to if you aren't specific.

Funny you should say that because I don't think he's fast at all, he's deceptively quick but he doesn't play fast in my opinion. That's actually one of the things I like about him.

I'll give him credit he played well, but he's played against some bad teams and the one decent team he played against is notorious for getting killed by opposing point guards.
Hmmm...heard a similar argument around here before about a certain RB.

How is he not a game breaker? He's more than a game breaker. He was the best running back in the league when he was healthy.
Interesting.

Interesting.

Comparing football to basketball, comparing a point guard to a running back. Great job.

Buyers remorse at the Garden, holy moly.

Carmelo was probably not the best trade for d'Antoni's system where DG was better suited IMO. I don't think Lin is the better player but he's definitely more valuable for the system.

It's silly to try to compare the value and contribution of a point guard to a small forward.

So strength of schedule matters in basketball, but not football? OK

Actually Carmelo fits perfectly. All offense, no defense. That's D'Antoni's style of basketball. He is like a different form of Don Nelson.

The Knicks won't ever win anything because they don't play defense.

Football is just a much tougher sport to play.
Well no kidding.

But that doesn't explain how strength of schedule applies in basketball and not football.
