Making a big move at QB would be admitting he was wrong and we all know Jerry's ego can be a tad sensitive. He'd love for Dak to prove him right.
Exactly. I believe season long performance should be taken into account for onlookers for just someone like Jerry Jones.
Poor performance against a 'top' opponent might be a back breaker for others. For Jones, a number of average-to-great play in games of 'lesser importance' matter more to him than to others.
In Prescott's case, the critical question is, "When
has Jones pulled the trigger concerning players?" What happened for Jones to pull the trigger on Tony Romo? On Drew Bledsoe? On Quincy Carter? On Troy Aikman?
- Romo? Prescott was performing exceptionally well within the Dallas offensive scheme.
- Bledsoe? Bledsoe was playing like the statue he erected in New England and Romo was electric, even during a poor initial start.
- Carter? <insert Sanford & Son theme>
- Aikman? Retirement.
Prescott? Years of backing him up has never made Cooper Rush shine in Jones' eyes.
Some people LOVE invoking Trey Lance's name and what Jones 'will' do. These same people do not either know or have forgotten Jones is the same man, the same general manager, who BOOTED Tony Banks in favor of Quincy Carter before the regular season began.
Lance would have played some downs Sunday night if Jones felt the same way about him. Lance would certainly, ABSOLUTELY, start Monday night if that were the case.
You are 100% correct. Jones loves being right. Not what others consider being right. What is right inside his brain.
