Yeah, its the scheme

First it was Linehan
Then it was Garrett
Then it was Moore
Now its the McCarthy “scheme”

But its not Dak
No, that would be crazy
It's all of the above.

But yeah, let's keep McCarthy around post-Dak. That should fix everything.

Ball the two of them up together, shove them in a circus cannon and fire them out of the tent. That's the only real fix for this franchise (well firing the two Jones boys out of the circus tent would also be beneficial but unfortunately, we are hosed on that end).

I mean he threw it to Lamb more when he had Amari, I think this scheme has CD and Dak in a funk
I think the scheme is too fast pace in developing for Dak. He just can't read situations that fast against competent opponents.

But our GM is 80 and would rather pray for cards to fall just right, then do the right thing and move on from HC....and more importantly QB. PLEASE someone tell after listening to this that things could change by seasons end....I need some kind of warm fuzzy to get me through this horrible sports week.

No ur right.

He's 80. It takes 3 or 5 years to just start over with a new QB and rebuild to the point of competing for a SB (unless ur one of the 1 or 2 teams a decade that scores a Mahomes level QB)

And Jerruh knows he could be dead or 100% senile by then.

So in a way he's right. There's probably a better chance that he wins a SB with Dak in the next 4 or 5 years (maybe 1 in 200 or 1 in 300 chance) than he would if he were to tear it down now and build for the future.

So keeping that small infinitesimal chance of a short term SB alive for the next 5 years while he's still alive is more important to Jerruh than doing what's right for the franchise in the long run. He doesn't care about the Cowboy fans experience for the next 25 years. He wants 1 last chance for glory for himself at the expense of yours or my happiness....even if it means greatly extending the wasteland we're in far longer than it needs to be, all just to salvage a 1 in 200 Longshot of a SB ....since he won't be around to suffer through that with us.

His one, last, selfish, Me First act

Romo would have dominated with the 2016 team no matter what you believe

I am fair and honest

After a drunken tirade about Romo my last name 31hammer was banned. So don't label me or assume

Any idiot knew Romo would have dominated because the team was built for Him . . . The team was so good that an over achieving limited rookie QB went on a winning streak with them . . . That team was limited with Prescott over Romo and that is a fact

Jerry made that imbecilic decision and now he is trying to over compensate by continuing to force Dak upon this team. . . Jerry is so far dug in He needed Dak to pan out based upon that idiotic decision to bench Romo and not even allow Him to compete for His Job back. . . That is what all of this is about

Everyone knows who the problem is and Jerry is forcing Him upon us because of his Ego
Not to be argumentative but this is a rose tinted view of a hypothetical situation that can't be proven either way. Romo, by that point, was horribly injury prone and regressing at a rate of knots. He was more likely to end up in a wheelchair than a superbowl if he kept on trying to compete. I loved him at his peak but that was a long time before 2016.

depending on the play 2 seconds 3 is only time to go through so many progressions..without knowing what the reads are its hard to say. Whatever it is it looked like crap against a good team and needs to be fixed.

not to mention he had they same team (probably better actually) in 14 and failed. both teams suffered similar defensive issues and had a aaron rodgers problem

This was nothing less than classic rope a dope folks. Hustling. Whatever you want to call it.

It takes complete dedication to lose badly to set up the playoff win. What a team!

Even Dak. He’s spent 3 years setting this up. What a leader!

Looking forward to knocking out SF in playoffs baby. This is the year! Dak - MVP.

Jimma said that Belicheat told him to never draft a dumb player, but JJ did, so I don't think any coach in the NFL could do a good job with Dak, he is just to slow mentally to be a QB. And what the hell is with those shoulder pads he wears, they are as big as a lineman's shoulder pads. Look around the league at other QB's, they don't have those big azz shoulder pads the Dak likes to wear. I guess he thinks it makes him look bigger. I can't wait till he hits the bricks.
Looks like a constipated LB/FB when he's running the ball.

The pads and the sleeved shirt (Hide the Tattoos I guess as they don't go well with the good boy image) and the punch high fives in the huddle
The cherry on the cake is hearing him scream "here we go here we go" to get massacred by another playoff-bound team!!! :muttley:

Bingo.

I mean if they have to dump Dak and decide to give Lance a go around, I don't want McCarthy within 100 miles of him or his development.

He is not wrong. I think Dak can take them to the Super Bowl too, if he has the right team around him. The problem is, if you pay Dak $40 million or maybe $55 million on his next contract, you can't afford to put that team around Dak. Dak does not make his teammates better, they make him better. And Dak is never going to get the Cowboys to the Super Bowl if he can't show up big in the big games.

Then again Jerry has to say this stuff about Dak. We are in the middle of the season and he needs to stand behind his QB. If Dak gets hurt and they have to put Rush or Lance out there Jerry would say the same thing.

To be honest, I am more concerned about McCarthy's play calling and offense than I am about Dak.

There you have it from the horse's rea....... mouth. Jerry Jones made this statement this morning on 105.3 The fan. It's copied on the official website.

"I completely believe we have the quarterback that can take us where we want to go," Jones said. "Dak Prescott is a quarterback that can get us to the Super Bowl. And that's the way that's going to be."

I realize Jerry says all kinds of ridiculous stuff. I also realize that he can't really publicly dump on his QB. Though I had hoped for something a little more motivating to #4.

If Jerry's not careful, he's gonna have the whole locker room pack it in mid season. It'll be interesting to see how Kellen Moore game plans against us this coming Monday. Lose that one, & Jerry is sure to have even more egg on his face....

I’m not one of these lifelong cowboy fans who’s going to do a one liner, half a sentence bash on my quarterback. But I’m also going to be realistic when it comes to what we’re gonna get out of this guy. What we’re going to get out of Dak Prescott, we’ve already gotten it and been getting it and that’s all we’re going to get. All you need to do is go back to the original scouting reports on this guy. He does indeed have a lot of good qualities about him. But you have to understand the speed at which the NFL game is played. It requires a brain or a mind that can make spontaneous and rapid decision making. It requires a mind that doesn’t second-guess itself. It requires a mind that knows exactly where every receiver is on the field during the play at every moment. It requires a mind that can go through those progressions at a rapid speed in order to be great as an NFL quarterback. Dak Prescott is a hard worker. He means well, he’s a good dude. But that Half second hesitation, and his frequency to second-guess himself is what brings his game down one or two notches below the greatest quarterbacks that played the game. And going into year eight he’s not gonna improve at this point. He is what he is and that’s what he will always be. He’s had all the pieces in place, far more than Romo ever had to take this team deep into the playoffs, and he has not done it. Great quarterbacks can win games by themselves. Dak Prescott is not capable of doing that. He needs everything around him to be perfect. The Dallas Cowboys will make the playoffs this year as a wildcard team and will be an exact repeat of what happened last year. Only, perhaps we are one and out instead of two.
The Cowboys will not win a Super Bowl with that Prescott as their quarterback. Period!

Well he right about one thing, that’s the way it’s going to be, but he is wrong about the Super Bowl part!

I generally don't care what Jerry says until he's on his bus, in Mobile Alabama, spilling the tea on the draft. Jerry is hustling the fans right now to keep the stadium full, that man doesn't believe in Dak like that.

How CeeDee Lamb is used is a major point. And I am not saying that because he is my WR1 on my fantasy football team.

Your number one receiver is the main target in your passing attack unless you are quarterback blessed with a tight end like Mr. Taylor Swift. It does not matter how wide open your offensive scheme is. Or how wide open other receivers are. The quarterback should spread the ball around BUT your number one target should be A read going through your progressions. And your number one target should be your first read IF you have gotten away from going through your progressions.

An injured Davante Adams is a good example of your number one receiver's importance. Adams played mostly as a decoy last night against Green Bay BUT he was still targeted when it was necessary.

Lamb's value should not be undervalued. Not during practice. Not during games. Do whatever it takes but get Lamb the ball. If Prescott must undergo some hypnosis-therapy sessions to fool him into seeing Lamb as Amari Cooper, so be it.
I don’t think they have a problem with that based on NYJ game. SF just had defensive pressure all game, excellent coverage to make it worse. Just a complete thorough butt whipping on us from those damn Niners. Not sure any strategy would have worked. That’s why this loss is so demoralizing. Absolute punch in the face.

Just my opinion but I think CeeDee Lamb would read what is bold and reply like any other number one receiver with, "I'm always open." lol.

Myself, I already would have been in a knock down drag out fight before leaving the field.
