He doesnt own odysee radio at all, he doesnt even pay them to be the flagship, hell the Cowboys get the ad revenue from the gameday broadcasts...who is naive?
You do understand that “owning something” does not mean literally owning it, right?

Why do you try and turn every discussion into an Dak argument? This isn’t a Dak thread. If you don’t think he cares about winning your lost! He started off as a 4th round pick for crying out loud. He didn’t come here with any fanfare. What bothers him is the team not winning consistently. This thread is about Jerry try sticking with the topic.
If Dak was performing well, you would have no issue turning every thread into a Dak discussion. I find it interesting that people who are WRONG on the most important questions want to steer the conversations and curate fandom.

Once Dak took the majority of the pie, he’s gonna get asked about what you did with those calories. Everyone depends on his production now…if you can’t see this, it’s because you’re in love or something.

You can’t protect Dak from criticism by being a hall monitor.

Well, I understand Jerry-ese. He meant what he said. He may state something different in the future when asked what he meant. His answer will be his narcissism talking again. And it would be a contradicting lie if he states he did not mean what he meant.
It tells you the unspoken rule of working for Jerry: Do nothing to make Jerry question his brilliance.

I can tell you, I’ve worked with people who get UPSET if they sense you are not being your authentic self. They CRAVE honest feedback. Jerry runs his org in such a way that people who don’t acquiesce are gone. He stated as much.

A father who imagines everyone loves him…because they are afraid to tell him otherwise.

He performs well most of the time and I don’t turn threads into Dak discussions. I don’t randomly bring him up like some of you do. It’s you fans that hate them that attempt to turn every non Dak related discussion into Dak bashing.

Some people don't understand the relationship of The Fan and the Dallas Cowboys. Jerry Jones doesn't own the station. He doesn't sign their checks. 105.3 The Fan is owned by Audacy. Jerry doesn't pay The Fan, the opposite. The Fan pays for the rights to air their games. And receive a good portion of the ad revenue. If the Dallas Cowboys went elsewhere to air their games, The Fan would still exist and Shan/RJ would still have jobs. Over the last decade, The Fan has really gained good momentum in the DFW sports talk market. Shan/RJ are easily their biggest show and have a great following. Absolutely no way The Fan fires them over talking down on Dallas/Jerry. Shan/RJ don't answer to Jerry. He doesn't sign their checks. He can't fire them. We'll see what happens over the next days once this blows over nationally. Right now, Audacy/The Fan loves the exposure from the whole country.

Jerry, break ties with "The Fan" and find a radio station to replace those clowns at 105.3. :oldcouple:

not in this case Jerry literally can't fire them, they don't work for him...Audacy the broadcast station can but already said they are perfectly fine with what happened and proud their guys are doing the job they were hired to do..just like Jerry didn't "Own" the Ticket and couldn't fire any of those guys when he changed stations over the same damn thing...and look the Ticket is doing just fine without Jerry.

Al Davis 2.0.
I have been thinking this very same thing for a long time. Raiders got better once Al wasn't in charge, likely the same will happen with the Cowboys. Not wishing anything bad on Jerry and Company at all just wish he would step away and go count his money.

Mark Cuban got caught on a hot Mic saying he felt sorry for Jerry, when pressed about it, it was because he couldn't step away from it. Mark went into how he knew it was time to take a back seat when his competitive edges were no longer a + for the Mavericks and spending time with his family made more sense...that will never be Jerry.

What’s crazy is him doubling down last night saying he shouldn’t get those questions from the “flagship”. They don’t even work for him. He’s turning senile.

Can someone clarify the issue of whether Jerry (in fact, or by proxy) actually pays and/or employs these radio hosts? The latter deny it.

However, Jerry, in an interview late yesterday, said:

“I don’t know that I would go as far as (calling) the volume connotation as yelling,” Jones said. “OK? But the facts are that if I’m going to be grilled by the tribunal, I don’t need it to be by the guys I’m paying."

So, which is it?

Jerry doesn't pay them directly, but their relationship with the Cowboys is what generates most of the revenue.

Again. Not senile. Some people would finally realize, Jerry Jones’ behavior is actually WORSE than they have always believed, if they understood he does not have dementia.
