meh - he can't do anything to get them fired - if anything the fact that they stood their ground and kept their cool solidified their jobs even more.

SO refreshing to finally see the dallas media pushing him.
Until he calls the owner of the radio station and says he will take away Cowboys access as long as those guys work there.

Guys like him do that kinda stuff .... he has had reporters fired before.

Jerry is spiraling. He is going to fire everyone speaking ill of the cowboys. What a sad pathetic man.
I hope this egotistical maniac stews in his own doings for the end of his years. At this point in his life, all these billions mean less and less. His legacy is tied to the Cowboys and right now, they are making history as having the worst home stretch in NFL history. Last 4 home games have all been over at halftime and every game could have been much worse but the opposing team took their foot off the gas to get it over with. All of these terrible roster decisions are coming home to roost over the past 5-6 years. Bad drafts, extending the wrong players, not taking free agency seriously, having zero backup plan for another QB or RB. At some point, it was all going to crumble and we are seeing it now. I believe the next years will mirror the start of the 2000s. No real direction and no hope. And deep down he knows this and is very ornery. He usually can roll with the punches but fans are fed up with it right now and he can no longer sell the snake oil he has been selling. I wish nothing but misery for him and his son. The 2 biggest clowns in sports, neither have no business managing a roster.

You could see this defensiveness when being interviewed immediately after the blowout on Sunday when he asked a reporter, “Do you think I’m an idiot?”

He feels like an idiot and knows everyone is rightfully blaming him for this mess of a roster. He can’t handle the heat that comes with accountability. Like all dictators and narcissists, he wants to be surrounded by sycophants and ego hyping “yes-men”.

Yep. Or he could even move to another station. Speculation is that's one reason The Ticket lost the Cowboys contract years ago, because so many of the hosts were critical of him.

Somewhere in Communist Venezuela, there's an oil tycoon clapping and cheering for Jerry saying "thats how we do it here, well done."
I think there are some people with authoritarian tendencies right here in the good ole US of A. People think you have to be some communist to be authoritarian...no...just human. It's why the founders separated the powers of government and then put checks and balances in between. The key point here is that if you have a person who can erase all of that delicate work...it can't work. There are no exceptions to the separation of powers. Judges judge...and legislators legislate and executives execute. Once you have a guy who can say, "Screw it...I know better..."...the whole operation comes down. See the Roman Republic. The Haitian Revolution. South American Democracies.

And...the Dallas Cowboys. Jimmy was only one who could stay Jerry's hand. Ironically it was Jerry's obsession with the media - and wanting all the attention - that started the breakup!!!

Any doubting why nobody of intelligence will come coach here? Anyone doubting why free agents won't play here? The fallout should be good
Free agents don't really come here because we aren't active in free agency. Players go where the money is. We don't offer enough money for the good free agents. We scrape the bottom of the barrel of free agency. I mean unless you are a player trying to snatch a ring, money will always rule over anything else. But Stephen Jones is the biggest bargain bin shopper I have seen.

This is ego combined with cognitive decline and the defensiveness such decline often creates. Success in an environment where this is the driving force is almost impossible.

At this point, we’re waiting for a coup or Jerry to pass.

sorry, disagree, he can call all he wants but the reallity is this is the top fan show in the DFW metro - if he were to do that, it would be hit so badly from a news pov that the blowback would be severe. This is why those guys stood their ground

I'll go one step further. I've been listening into First Take while I work. Shannon Sharpe and Marcus Spears said something that I couldn't agree more with. I DESPISE what Jerry did here. Just when I couldn't feel worse about Jerry, he does this. This is him attacking a guy who was doing his job holding Jerry accountable. Jerry wants the credit when things go well, then he needs to handle the criticism when things go poorly. For him to call for someone's job who was doing his job is DISGUSTING!! I am revolted by what Jerry did. He needs to call back into that radio show and apologise to the host!

And you know something? The way he just bullied a media person for something that is ENTIRELY on Jerry. I HOPE the Dallas Media comes to that host's defence. I hope they become like a hive against Jerry. I hope it becomes a situation where he just poked the wrong bear. I hope this starts a sequence where he gets run out of Dallas.

Additionally, I'm going to take this further! Now it's going to put the person who asked the question in a tough spot. He may really want to criticise what we can all see needs to be pointed out. Sometimes, you have to highlight where the problems on the team are for them to be fixed. Part of being a fan is knowing where the flaws are so we can understand what needs fixing. In the media, the person asking the questions needs to be able to tell Jerry where we all see the problems are. Now, he had his job questioned for doing what probably every Cowboys fan was wanting to know from Jerry.

This leads him, someone who is probably not making a huge amount of money, to have to choose whether to kiss Jerry's tail or do what needs to be done to do his job. It's further why I am DISGUSTED with Jerry. I hope people now see how slimy Jerry is. For him to do that to a media person who makes a fraction of what he makes who's trying to do his job, PATHETIC AND REVOLTING.

Shannon said that he wouldn't shed a tear if we never make another playoff for the remainder of the time Jerry is the owner as a result of what Jerry did. I always want us to make the playoffs and win. That said, as I stated in one of my threads yesterday, this team probably has at least 2-4 years needed to rebuild (assuming it's done right) to even be close to championship caliber. it may not even be something that Shannon hopes happens. Jerry is 82. His response today reeks of a man who knows the grim reaper is drawing closer and is in a corner. He probably knows he hasn't got long left. And he probably realises that, even if he went into a full rebuild, he may not be alive to see its fulfillment.

So, it begs another question in my mind. Is Jerry trying to make things so bad to the point where Stephen has no chance of rebuilding this team? Look at where the Raiders are now! Look what Al Davis (Jerry's mentor) left Mark with! Is that our future?

Crowd needs to Boo him out of his own building and stop asking for autographs ........ I wish they would throw trash at him.
Jerry needs to revisit the end of the Tom Landry tenure here in Dallas. Before Jerry bought the team the fans were turning on him too. They turned on Don Meredith so why not Jerry? They may not remove him but at least eventually he will hear their displeasures with the team he alone assembled. Will it matter to him is the question and make him get outside help and fresh eyes and ideas brought in.

Saun doesnt need Jerry Saun and RJ can stand on its own now...they wont back down. Hell they would be more popular if Jerry presses this..again i think its 50/50 jerry fights or he may actually call back in and walk his comments back..it was that bad that national media is calling him a horrible person for his reaction.

Not enough "YES" men around for Jerry today it appears. Had a hissy-fit like an old lady Karen.
Seriously. This is losing an argument with your husband and calling the cops...or calling child services on a parent who is giving you the business. It's a violation. Those services are for real victims...not LOSERS. He's basically threatening to go to another radio show...where he will get soft ball questions. Because NOW we are to believe that Jerry is a journalist...and knows what their job is.

Hubris. Narcissism. Absolute Power Corruption.

"This is not your job. Your job isn't to let me go over all the reasons that I did something and I'm sorry that I did it. That's not your job. I'll get somebody else to ask these questions. I'm not kidding. You're not going to figure it out what the team is doing right or wrong. If you are, or any five or 10 like you, you need to come to this (NFL) meeting I'm going to today with 32 teams here, you're geniuses.

"You really think you're gonna sit here with a microphone and tell me all of the things that I've done wrong without going over the rights? Listen, we both know we're talking to a lot of great fans, a lot of great listeners. And I'm very sorry for what happened out there Sunday. I'm sick about what happened Sunday. "...

One of the stupidest things I've ever done, that anybody had ever analyzed was buy the Cowboys. It was an idiot that did that. So idiot things can turn into good decisions. Smart things can turn into bad decisions. The facts are when you make one, you don't really know if it's going to be good or not at the time. You want some conversation this morning, you're getting it."

Just another way to keep the Cowboys in the news cycle. Jerry is working his magic with his fake outrage.
