Jerry hinting that he is trading for a linebacker

Why would it matter? The odds of them hitting with that pick is slim and none. Trade for a known commodity or another Mazi? Lol trade that pick asap
Not if we draft another offensive linemen. Haha and I am kidding.

Spending draft picks on a lost season is soooooo dumb.

Unless some team is literally having a fire sale and giving players away, keep the picks.
As soon as they announce a trade, you'll be thumping your chest about how we just got.......

If it is a long-term piece, I am fine with such a move, just not another Murray type.
Now you say that but Philadelphia did that with two other better players for free agents last year was a defensive back I don't remember his name Cheap free agent and that guy that nobody really knew who he was and Zach Baun he is just like Sanborn and Murray except for it worked out..

Let's not sit here and tell me that how we knew he was going to hit on those guys because I could tell you they also brought in Brian Huff who completely laid an egg for 17 million he was their big free agent and he didn't work out which is funny I think he's playing better elsewhere why didn't he play well in philadelphia I thought they were perfect over there....

some do workout,

I mean kendricks was really good last year, maybe that the guy LOL.. I mean what was the social media weird post where he's sitting there with his gear on and his old cowboy helmet sitting in front of him..hmmm:huh:

These alleged cheap bargain basement guys you talk about, that you don't like ,they work out for some teams, they've had we've had guys come through here like that I know it don't seem like that now but Kearse, hooker, and trades for Cooks and Gilmore, Peters, Hankins etc.. They have helped this team that's just a few, I mean if you want me to go dig, I can dig..

I know what you're saying but even if you think they're getting a better player that doesn't mean they're going to work out any better than the ones I listed above I don't know who they're looking at but in my opinion he read that statement wrong I think Jerry thinks Max really going to fix this he's going to use some of the other linebackers more some less he's going to adjust the defense and what he's saying is I hope it's playing well enough that Overshown comes back, he makes a difference that's what I read.. and by that meaning that you're still in it mathematically and have a chance.

Where did I read that statement and think Jerry was going to make a trade for a linebacker and if so, who?
.

There were some talking about it yesterday as possible sellers and they keep going to Miami's defense they got two or three guys over there on defense pass rusher a linebacker and possibly a safety and I'm going wasn't that the same defense that Rico just ran over they're not ranked very high and you want to go over there and get some of their guys. hmmm

I'm just curious of who this linebacker might be, but I still didn't read that I think I read Jerry pretty well and that is not what I heard or what should I say read...

Those draft picks are burning a hole in Ole Jerry's pocket.
Does it say it's a draft pick he's going to use or that it's an actual trade and not bringing over simply a guy like Kendricks maybe Gilmore...

Because they've done trades like that before and it actually has worked out using a fourth or fifth rounder and make a small trade something to fill a hole.

Where did I read anywhere in that statement that said Jerry is bringing in another linebacker?

all I heard is he believes and he hopes that Matt figures this out and has the team still mathematically in it to where overshone being added actually still has a chance to make a difference...

Ignore the position in the off-season (with serious moves) and then trade assets to save a failed season. Jerry logic at its finest

As a fan I personally find draft picks more exciting, because you don't know what your getting. I like to watch them develop but your probably right, so long as we get a long playoff run by doing it. For the record, I didn't throw out Quincy or Breece out there because I personally want them here but due to what could possibly be available. We tried to get Breece during draft so could see us doing a package deal for him and Quincy.

Well show me where it says that you guys keep saying that where does it say Jerry is actually trading away big assets I don't see any words like trade or bringing in anyone from the outside anywhere in that statement but you guys once again go off the deep end and start guessing and opinions start flying and then all of a sudden it's factual it did this yesterday and I done inserted the thing where Jerry said he wasn't bringing anybody in at at the moment he had no one in mind that was yesterday..

That statement doesn't tell me he's bringing in a linebacker from the outside or that he's going to use a draft pick on him how maybe it's Kendricks? Maybe it's another free agent or maybe they're going to use a 5th round pick on a guy maybe somebody selling a guy that's worth it I don't know but you guys are sure jumping to conclusions...

Yes, unfortunately your right. We all know the mantra. We are happy with our guys. ;)

What I'm saying is it might not be smart to make that trade not use high assets but I'm saying just reading that does not tell me they're making a trade but how do you know going to get someone from the outside is going to fix anything how do you know it's not going to waste the draft pick not every free agent or trade works out my man I was just saying what I read from reading that specific statement....

It might not be too smart to be using some of our better assets there's not enough of those to plug the holes this year to make it worth it but maybe bringing over a couple of free agents that are sitting out there like Kendricks Gilmore I don't know something but not using high assets use a couple of A 5th or a 6 rounder for somebody you feel can at least fill a hole..

No that's not what I meant i'm sure they're very concerned about some of their guys but there might be too many of them to fix it this year and we should wait till the offseason use the draft use free agency and then start with another solid offseason

The only trade I would accept with any first round pick would be for a HC and that would have to be a Sean McVay type of coach. Short of that, use the picks to draft.

You worry about players like Kendricks/Gilmore as no other team have signed them this late. However, do get your point, doesn't have to be a star to make an impact, especially on this defense.

But I'm saying there's too many holes to fill right now to worry about using high draft picks trying to find an impact player, that might not work out...

I'd rather them do a little bit smaller move until Overshown gets back, but like I said I don't think it's what that guy read into that quote, I didn't read that at all...
.
My interpretation is he believes Matt is gonna figure out the defense had a better utilize some of his other players getting more snaps maybe change the depth chart maybe bring more pressure like they did against the Jets I didn't read they were going to make a big move.

And like I said at minimum Kendricks had that picture with the helmet I mean we're just looking for slightly better stop the bleeding...

Because Bell doesn't look ready yet and we lost Sanders and thats how these trades happen. Teams are less likely to give up a player that has 4 years left on their rookie contract. Trade for him then sign him. We don't need the RB as much as a linebacker so I'd be ok with just Quincy. Not gonna be a much better trade option as well.
I mean, you've got some points and I wouldn't put it past them. Personally, I think it would be a mistake.

I mean anything to plug a hole if you got digs who doesn't want to play doesn't feel like he can play in this defense then you go out and find a better middle linebacker to wear the green dot it don't have to be spectacular and you find a corner that actually might be at least decent if he could be above average for 75% of his snaps maybe that's better than what we have..

I don't think Jerry intends to use any of those higher draft picks, you guys realize there's a whole bunch of other draft picks ,or he can make a trade or he could just bring over a couple free agents,

I do not believe they're making a big move I don't read any of that from that quote people are making things up by their own interpretation my interpretation said he believes Matt is going to get this fixed in house with the players we have Still relative Enough that Overshown when he gets back can make a difference..

You are right unless it's a can't miss like some generational talent or a guy similar to Hendrix I don't know I would be using any of my higher draft picks at all No top three round draft picks used until the draft.

Need a good mix of FA and draft to help this defense.
I don't disagree, but I think It's necessary to sign Pickens long-term to close out Dak's career.

They can save around $28m in cap space next season by moving Diggs, Hooker, and Steele. Current roll-over is around $30m, and another $21m if they let Kenny Clark walk. So we're looking at $70m is cap space when accounting for allocations next season and without factoring in restructures for Lamb and Prescott.

They'd be wise to invest in safety and LB through free agency/trade, target DL/CB through the draft, and take the top rated defender with every premium pick next two seasons unless an elite RB, QB, or OT falls.

The offense looks great right now. OT needs to be addressed at some point, but QB, WR, IOL, and TE are in great shape. They need to either extend Williams or bring in somebody high in the draft. I'm guessing that will look like 3 years/$32-45m to lock him in. A deal for Pickens is likely a backloaded 4 year/$120m extension so we're looking at around $25m next season for the pair, leaving around $45m to play with in free agency.

If Revel can play, CB will be in decent shape. The DL has some nice pieces, but is far from complete. We need two edge rushers and at least two DTs, 3 if Clark walks. If we can afford to bring in an above average DT on a multi-year deal, we need to do it, but D-linemen are expensive. If we use the draft to supplement front-7 pieces, we avoid paying big on premium positions, which allows the FO to overspend on the offense. Seems like the most effective way to build a roster that can compete now without completely nuking the future.
