My rules would be:

1) no trading 1st, 2nd, 3rd round picks.

2) no trades until we get through the Denver game.

3) If we lose Wash and Denv games--- I'm selling, not buying.

I'd be hesitant to trade a first, but not a second. What exactly have we done with our second-round picks that makes them more valuable than a proven veteran we could pick up? I mean, wouldn't Miami linebacker Jordyn Brooks be likely better than anyone we'd draft with the pick, and he's young enough to re-sign for next season. Frankly, I don't think it would take a second to get him, though. I'd spend the second on Trey Hendrickson.

Cody Barton might be available. We don't need to trade high draft picks to upgrade what we currently have on the roster.

That is not much of a hint at all, IMO. Jerry says nonsense all the time, and this feels like one of those things he says that's supposed to mean something else.

Jerry wants to hang out at the rim, and we are not even close to the free throw line at this point. So don't be surprised if/when he does something stupid.

Sure, but if we're trading for players they really need have some time left on their rookie contracts. If we are going heavy towards the offense accounting wise, we need good defensive players on rookie contracts. Or we could trade Pickens before the deadline and bring in more talent on defense, but I'd really rather keep him around.

True but we are already down a 3rd round pick and also some later picks because of the Elam, etc. trades. This team is several players away from a respectable defense and one veteran linebacker isn't fixing anything in 2025.
