If Jerry was just a man on the street…no money…no power…no name recognition…and he said what he says at his press conferences, most people would think he’s just a crazy old man.

He’s truly a great businessman and probably the best salesman I’ve ever seen. He could sell sand in the desert. But when it comes to building a football organization to win playoff games he consistently falls short. And that’s not my opinion. The last quarter century of results speaks for itself.
He is the greatest obstacle in the cowboys improving as an organization.

Sounds like it's all about being relevant, no matter what's being said.
Evidently, it's all about getting attention, whether good or bad.

Right or wrong, Jerry Jones has his own weird way of seeing things.

Yup, Jerry does care about winning. He just cares about the money more. I watched Hard Knocks tonight and a coach said the NFL was a “Show Me” league, and he is right. You and Jerry just have words. The rest of us have 26 years of Jerry showing us. If Jerry cared about winning as much as the money he would have fired his GM after 26 years of failure and hired a real football GM. But he values winning so much he never did and never will. You’re the illogical one if you think Jerry seriously values winning in the face of the evidence.
No. He cares about winning. However he cares about winning his way. That is the problem

You completely ran away on a tangent that had absolutely nothing to do with my original comment.

There's nothing for me to "get over".

Jerry spends more time being owner than GM. That is the problem I was referring to. Revenue over wins.

one of the most moronic narratives here , Jery only wants to profit and not win..lmao..

there no true bottom line in the NFL as it pertains to rosters yet even with our offices, practice fileds and stadium, are top notch at times over the top as fans say its too plush, which is it hes too cheap hes spends too much, too big of contacts handed out LOL.

where exactly is he CHEAP or penny pinching ??..the cap was created to make it to where small market owner worth 2 billion has no disadvantage to those worth 15 billion. I get it , you all see he doesn't max the cap yearly, like few teams do but its strategy to make sure he can retain players have some space for an emergency. fans make this mountain out of molehill situations. yes this season they cut a bunch of stars and have some extra cap space, last year they had to restructure 10 deals just to sign the draftees. This fluctuates year to year and when Diggs parsons, Lamb and others need to get paid they can at least keep our stars who earned a deal.

Jery ownership marketing and need to have his face in public to feel important has zero to do with the team's success or failures as the profits do not matter. The cap and the rosters built with the cap not the bottom line..all things being equal.

again go ahead have a narrative, hate the ownership, be THAT giant hypocrite, spending countless hours a day talking about his team..he owns you , you just don't see it..your hate is so much that you spend extra time investing i the team, yes time is more than money. Claim you dont go to games or buy gear, that's your protest. umm no the time oyu spend that normal fans do not says he already took up rent free in your head.

protest by deleting this account and all related cowboy related accounts, donate your gear, and move on..

if not, this is the way it is and no amount of toddler tantrums on public forums will change that. hes here to stay, till death do us part then its Stehen, then its his children and grandchildren..
book it learns to deal with it see this as a football team each year as one off or move of. The self-deprecation and narcissism around here are worse than Jerrys..you just are so blind, you can't see it..

Lastly,

he does NOT sacrifice team over money, that not how its set up. sorry hes not a gunslinger anymore and do the exceptions top the rule like the rams did the last few years but he spends money on his roster more than a lot of teams investing in His guy drafts well and keeps those stars. So what , not huge player in FA like fans want and thats your season for the ridiculous notions he rather lose like this is some move like Major League movie, he is throwing games to further profit..lmao.

Hes not, that's a fact if he was he would look like the jets who seem to sell off all their "guys" trade the are not give many 2nd contracts and just be ok with losing..thats not jerry. The narrative here is he overpays his guys but not FAs, there's no difference, he keeps them from becoming FAs, those are our FAs.

the jets are one example there are many more from teams with REAL GMS who make worse decisions and are far less worried about winning.
I get it, we are in drought fans are frustrated and they need scape goat someone to blame but this happens all over sp[rits and at least jerry has 3 rings he can use as credit for fans..

there are far worse off fanbases in sports , heck 3 are right here Rangers have never won squat 50 coaches, 20 gms and 3 ownership changes, no rings Circa 1972 ..Mavs only 1 , stars only 1 odd 3 pro sports teams 2 rings,,,man those fan bases must be suicidal..lmao.

Sorry to differ with you but I could not disagree more with your last sentence.

Marketing is not the #1 priority, production of a quality product or service is. The Cowboys are the exception that a turd can be polished for so many years but the buyers aren't buying a product, they are buying belief.
WRONG no product to sell if you don't market. our product is good regardless of what fans HERE think..still relative still winning in a big game drought. again, how many teams do i have to list examples of teams right now breaking droughts of much longer slumps.

By your own words he cares more about doing it his way than he does winning. It’s so simple: if he cared about the winning he would make the changes that lead to winning. He won’t - that is how he doesn’t value winning compared to money and his ego. His record and actions for the last 26 years speak for themselves. Period.

Come on people! Give the guy a break. He obviously has it all together

https://sports.yahoo.com/cowboys-jerry-jones-talking-crazy-143202338.html

"HOST: Jerry, I know you're very optimistic by nature. Is your optimism for this year the same as it is every year?

"JONES: Well, let me just address the first way you stated the question without any issue on it. I have to believe 1 and 1 is 3. I can't operate where 1 and 1 is 2. We all know it is, physically, but the 3 is where you have to go. Now you have to have optimism to operate out in that world, and commit, and do things when you've got to count on 1 and 1 being 3. I'm not trying to play games, but that's where the biggest payoffs are, is out there. It's there for everybody to grab, if 1 and 1 is 2. So here you go."

I uh...

...what?

Jerry, you're gonna need to focus bud. Football is nearly here. You can't be getting metaphysical in September. That's what, I don't know, February 22nd is for.”

The evidence and results are pretty clear! And it's a rather large window. It's not a few years of poor management.. we're going on 3 decades. How anyone can still buy the idea that he cares about winning is a mystery at this point.

This is a funny thread. Probably the funniest in this forum.

People complaining about Jerry not caring about winning championships, only caring about fleecing fans, giving us false hope and stealing our money, etc. Yet, here you are still watching and following his team, his business and someway/somehow emotionally investing in his product and financially continuing to fill his pockets!

Jerry Jones and his family thank you from the bottom of their hearts...while on their $250 million war draft yacht!

You can think that way, but I still go by my posts.

To Jerry it sounds like the Cowboys are supposed to be the subject of a gossip rag.
