Jerry: I'm reluctant to bet it all for just one year

So true.

Emmitt's last two seasons w/Dallas
3.9 Yards per carry
3.8 Yards per carry

Yet he was taking up a roster spot, eating up cap and getting lots of carries.

Jerry's buffoonery.
That's right.

Darren Hambrick had become a better back, but nobody wanted to admit it, and Jerry was the last one to admit it.

This is what I love about Jethro Jone$. He is totally honest with fans.

He tells them nothing is going to change and fans still come back with a renewed optimism and hope .

I don’t blame him for sticking to his guns . I blame the fans for not forcing the issue holding him accountable.
Well, he could be on to something.

We may just need to add some pieces.

There has to be someone in that organization with a respected voice who understands this. I just can't imagine everyone being on board with this foolishness.
You don’t have to agree or be on board. You just have to continue shoveling it or stay out of the way.

I wouldn't worry about Jerruh.

When talking about how the Rams and Eagles both got to the SuperBowl TWICE in the past 5 years, with Rams winning 1 of 2 and Eagles winning perhaps 2 of 2, Jerruh says he KNOWS how to do that if he wants to. He just doesn't want to.

That's comforting.

Jerruh knows how to get us to, and win one if not 2 superbowls in a 5 year span,....but he's protecting us from that. Because the flipside of winning 2 SuperBowls in 5 years, is that you DONT win it for the other 3 years.

Only winning 1 or 2 SuperBowls out of every 5 years is unacceptable to Jerruh...and I think we all owe him a big Thank You for keeping us from that fate over the last quarter century.

Shoutout to our Director of Player Personnel for not knowing the names of our players. Calling T.Y. Hilton "Hyatt". 12:20 of the video.

We are so, so screwed. At least I am old enough to have experienced the brief 90s dynasty.

I heard we're bringing in AJ Sheraton and Demerius Ramada too

Why is Jerry reluctant to bet it all for just one year when it's been 27 YEARS without a Super Bowl?

Give me one more before I die, please. If it takes years and years to rebuild from that, who cares? It can't be any worse since waiting since Jan. 28, 1996, can it???

Sorry, the priorities are more to keep an interesting and relative product he can hype and sell hope to every season in order to keep the record revenue intact.

Going all in to win a championship if it means 5 down years possibly won’t generate as much revenue. Plus the heartache and additional work being a part time GM and dealing with media , etc during down time .

You wouldn't bet it all since you draft so well. They are the one team that should be going all in since they have shown they can draft and replace players......just wow at their thinking.

The Rams and Eagles got very lucky in 2017 and last year. Somehow the Eagles were able to win it in 2017 with Nick Freaking Foles and beat a very very good Pats team to do that.

Last year the Rams were a Jaquarsky Tarte dropped int from falling short of the Super bowl and being in the doldrums they are in now.

The Eagles also lucked out this year, albeit with a more talented team this year than 2017, that they ended up playing no one in the playoffs and topped it by beating a team that couldn't forward pass.

If they fall short in the big game, they will have a hard time putting it all back together next year as they will have to let go of a lot of very good players.
Most people see it as a red flag when someone constantly says everyone else is getting "lucky"

Yeah it's the egotistical ramblings of a rich drunk old man.

Absolutely pathetic to say he could be winning Super Bowls but chooses not to do it "that way".

Of course the lapdog Dallas sports media doesn't challenge this at all.

Going all in would be mega-mega-mega stooooopid given current situ. I know lots of you are thinking with your hearts, but it makes zero sense.

Dak isn't an elite qb. Zeke is dead. Tyron Smith near the end end.

Truthfully a 1-year reset would be far better if you want a championship in the next few years. Clear the books, go 3-14 and draft a QB. The disappointment is that Jerry does just enough to keep things competitive and interesting, but only half measures. 1-year-rebuild is in order.
Bingo:hammer:

JJ and his son are in denial .. yet some fans get fooled every year. ....there is no way out of the Jones' vicious circle

Over the past 27 years or so; Jerry could have bet on one year at least 3 or 4 times.

For any of you hoping for an active offseason.
15:25 mark of the video. Jerry is asked after watching the Rams and Eagles approach to the Super Bowl what is the Cowboys plan. He says he knows how to do what those teams have done but if you miss it's a long way back. He's reluctant to go all in for a year. He thinks long term.

-

As an added bonus you can go back to the 13:25 mark and hear how they didn't mismanage the WR position by trading Cooper for nothing. It was relying too much on Jalen Tolbert that was the mistake. How do you address it this year? "We need Tolbert to come on as a young player".

And lastly back to 17:35 you can hear Jerry's sales pitch to you for 2023 when asked how he gets fans excited for next year.

"Dwell on the fact that we have some of the best personnel in the NFL. Dwell on the fact that you have Dak. Focus on that."

-

And one more gem right after. The yearly man in the mirror talk.

"There's been a lot of change here over the last 25 years the same way there would have been had you changed GMs and Owners. I have to change in my mirror. I want to emphasize that."

Umm… long term?

Somebody nudge Jerry and remind him not to buy green bananas.

Not totally true. The local paper we are unable to link and require subscription to view online have been calling Jethro out for 3+ decades. And local radio and tv personalities. Many of them just aren’t allowed at Cowboys press conferences.

Most people see it as a red flag when someone constantly says everyone else is getting "lucky"
Most people listen to what others say and are incapable of their own critical thinking too.

I know where I stand on that.
