The Fan reported that Jerry was completed caught off guard by the Zeke holdout and is severely ticked off.

They pointed to the amount of support the team had given settle in numerous off-field issues, including perhaps some we don't know about.

This could get pretty ugly.
I think this is true. As much as Jerry has done for Zeke since he became a Cowboy, sticking his neck out on the line, then Elliott, with 2 years left on his contract does this?

I want Elliott back as much as anyone, but this is a bad move.

Jerry should be PO'd at his son for telling the world Zeke had Gurley+ money headed his way, apparently assuming Elliott would just wait for it.

IMO the only way JJ caves is if he doesn't think Dak can carry the team without Zeke
Yep

And honestly we don’t need an Elite RB ( at least one we have to pay top money too)if we have QB who carries the offense.

But we’ve already had two good examples with Elliott’s suspension and without a WR1 that Dak isn’t enough to carry this team without that Elite supporting cast. Fans must have a short memory? I’m betting Jerry doesn’t. Unless Cheapskate Son has more influence than I thought.

Except the Cowboys are having the negotiation, and Stephen said Gurley's contract is a floor.

Apparently Elliot has enough leverage. Maybe he's got a portable movie screen outside Jerry's house playing the first two games of the 93 season.

We’ll see how it plays out. He’d be better off just being in camp and having his agents make a stink in the background. This isn’t going to net him a bigger payday. Though he’ll probably get paid sooner.

Same guy that threw his college coach under the bus...imagine that.

We’ve seen the last of Zeke in a Cowboys uniform. Book it.

But you always claim how smart he is, a smart player wouldn’t sign that.
No I said this holdout was a smart selfish move.

Obviously out of the business and off the field he’s either a blithering idiot or a thug.

I offered this suggestion of a contract to counter the concerns of him being suspended. I didn’t say I expected he’d sign it.

Dak behind this line protected is a better Dak than what he had last year and Linehan gone is too.

Zeke's agent may be buying him a one way ticket out of Dallas. DUMB TACTICS.

There is a legitimate problem with coming to camp for Zeke - he lost the guarantee on his contract because of the suspension. Now he's got injury risk he didn't have before.

I know most players don't have that, but he did as a 1st rounder, and people find it hard to lose something they had.

I'm in favor of guaranteeing the salary again, except for holdouts.

I'm not Dak biggest fan those of you around here who know me know this to be true, i think he is an average middle of the road QB, but i would root for him hands down no holds bar to succeed without Zeke, as much talent as Zeke has this move by him is idiotic and falls in line with all the other dumb crap he has done since he came into the leauge, trade him and get some picks and move on

Why was Dak and our 5th ranked offense ok in 2016 with Linehan?

Linehan was just an easy scapegoat to cover for Garrett. Linehan had to be conservative to keep a crappy QB in check and lost his job because of it.

Pittsburgh has a future HOF QB and they missed the playoffs.

Either extend Zeke or trade him. Having him sit out may make some fans feel like Dallas is winning but they'll be a lesser team.
they missed not because they lacked running game or the offense struggled. they had 200 less rushing yards for the year. their defense was good too, but each season plays differently. they didn't miss the playoffs because of 200 less rushng yards....

with that said, I like zeke and what he brings to the game. what is upsetting is instead of perhaps being back in dallas, he goes to cabo….to show what? why? to show that he is serious about the hold out...… specially that dallas has been very patient with him with all his off field issues. plus he is got two years on his contract. this year and the option year.... he is handling it the wrong way. He was given an offer. then counter and talk..... and nobody is going to trade for him...unless we take peanuts in return....

Zeke is not going to risk carrying the offense for the next two years, watch Dak and Cooper get paid, and then get told he is too used up for a big pay day.

I’d agree Linehan was a scapegoat for Dak. We’ll see how this develops with Moore Experiment but I suspect Linehan scale back of calling conservative plays did protect Dak and if Moore’s is to “ let it rip” then Dak will probably be more exposed.
