The Fan reported that Jerry was completed caught off guard by the Zeke holdout and is severely ticked off.

They pointed to the amount of support the team had given settle in numerous off-field issues, including perhaps some we don't know about.

This could get pretty ugly.

Zeke the moron just keeps screwing up. Right into the hands of the fans that cant stand him.

The line makes the running back. It did BEFORE Zeke with both Murray and McFadden and it will again. It's exactly why I was against using the #4 overall pick on Elliott at the time. If you invest that much in the line, they make running backs, not vice versa.
Both McFadden and Murray who only dropped in draft cause of injuries were Elite talent who prospered behind an Pro Bowl laden OL.

Much like Emmitt Smith and Tony Dorsett who both were Elite Talents behind Pro Bowl laden OL’s. So , it’s a combination of both Elite talents and OL.

If we can go out and bring in another Elite RB we should be fine. Until that occurs there could be some effects and impacts.

Don't expect it will come to that but IF it does, the Bucs would the team to watch. They are begging for an RB, any to step up and Adrian hates rookies. They are making one last attempt to save Winston career. What better friend a struggling QB like Winston can have than an elite RB like Zeke. Zeke would automatically make them a 500 team.
* they can have our #80&#85 as well, while we're crumbing out the corners of the house& laying in a brand new floor plan,,,question is? Just how many/much will it cost us in future draft picks to get Bruce Arians to bite on this pig in the poke sham we'll be trying to pawn off on him,,,he might be a rummy, but He ain't an idiot:lmao:

Linehan was just an easy scapegoat to cover for Garrett. Linehan had to be conservative to keep a crappy QB in check and lost his job because of it.
This is just.... dumb.

I’m very anti linehan. But in 2016 he had it going on. He called the right plays with the right personnel almost all season long. It was his greatest coaching job.

And Dak has arguably the greatest season of any rookie QB in NFL history. He made play after play after play. Not conservative either. We took shots all year long and dak made incredible plays/throws.

He had two young guys and had to be creative with formations and movement/shifts.

After that.... I don’t know what happened. He got really stale really fast. And the offensive line fell apart the last couple years also. Losing Leary was a big blow. And Tyron injuries etc

I didn’t like Michael Irvin either. In today’s NFL he would have been suspended, etc.

But we needed that talent level to win. Much like Charles Haley. The Harvey Martins and Hollywood Henderson’s.

Solid FO and coaching staff figure out how to deal with problematic talent. Landry and Jimmy dealt with it. Why does this current mgmt have so much trouble with it?

There were several contributing factors as the ones you mentioned. Another one was defenses begin figuring out Daks weaknesses. And we adjusted accordingly which included limiting play calling.

I thought Zeke was a standup guy when he jumped into the Salvation Army red bucket. But then he forceably pulled down a womans top at st patty day parade...

See what again?

We went 3-3 without Elliott.

And got trounced in all three games.

Zeke wouldn’t have made a difference in 27-7, 38-9 and 28-6 games
So , it’s your opinion our record would have been the same with Elliott? And he wouldn’t have provided a greater opportunity to win?

They stacked the box and basically knew where the ball was going. And our O line got whooped.

One game vs the last 3 seasons is not making any points.
Guy lead the league last year in rushing behind a decent at best Oline. Zeke is the most complete back in the league. Hopefully our Oline returns to dominance. Then he would be a little more expendable. But no average to good RB would have lead the league in rushing yards last year behind our beat up O line.

Pretty sad that the NFL rushing leader and the supposed best RB in football can’t get one endorsement. Wonder why? Hmmmmmm, he should be the face of the franchise. The fact that he’s not proves how dumb he is and how much of a head case he is.

Now this I agree with.

It’s great to have an elite talent at RB. Is Zeke that? I’m not sure.

Do I like Zeke the player? Absolutely.

Is he worth the contract he is wanting? Absolutely not in my opinion

That’s my opinion. Yes.

Tyron Smith’s injury was a much bigger factor than Zeke being out at that time. Yes

Please explain to me how Jerry stood by him? Do you honestly think Dallas was going to cut Zeke at that point? Every single team in any sport would have done what they did for Zeke. Which is appeal the decision. "Going to bat for him?" As in how? People are overblowing this narrative Dallas was somehow in his corner. I mean in the end, it didn't help at all. Still got suspended 6 games.

Jones tried his best not to act disappointed in Elliott’s absence, but he couldn’t hide it when reminded of his unwavering support of Elliott before and after the league suspended the running back for six games in 2017.

Elliott and Jones separately waged battles with the NFL, with Elliott eventually serving his suspension and Jones paying a $2 million de facto fine to the league for legal fees.

That's going to bat. Jerry didn't have to do a dam thing, nevermind shell out 2 mill. Some people will defend anything. LOL Zeke's a dumazz and Jerry fought for him. No not every team would do the same. I'm no fan of Jones, but he does treat his players well. This goes above and beyond.

The difference between past greats and Zeke is that none of the past greats held out demanding a new contract with years left on their current contract like Zeke has done.

The players you mentioned all won rings. No one on the current roster has come close.

As for current management, Jerry is too busy trying to befriend players and his personal feelings get involved. He loses objectivity and players take advantage of it.

Players knew there was a line with Landry and Jimmy. There's no line in Dallas these days because the HC is neutered by Jerry and Jerry...see above.

A player has to show up before the 10th game of the year to get credit for a season.

Check your sources and info more carefully next time:

“As noted by Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports, failure to report by August 6 results in Elliott forfeiting a year of credit toward free agency.

Robinson notes that Elliott is aware of the deadline, which is good because sometimes neither the player nor his agent are aware of the consequences of a player under contract staying away beyond the start of the 30-day countdown to the start of the regular season. (We first became aware of the rule more than a decade ago, regarding a player who quickly ended his holdout after his agent read our article.)”
