i was about to say Zeke should be happy. I'm sure Jerry spent a lot of money covering and dealing with Zeke's legal fee's. And if i was jerry I would be concerned with giving zeke a big deal because of how much crap he got into in the offseason. Zeke is probably one incident away from a year ban. He already got 6 games before. And i would hate to see Zeke to go because he is a beat.

This DAL roster is Zeke dependent. The offense runs through him. Was it smart to build the team around him? That’s another issue but it is built around him. That’s why he has leverage. If they had 3 stud WRs, great TE & top tier QB, they could call his bluff. They don’t. Per Daniel Jeremiah today

What I think is happening right now is that the Joneses are going through a period of reflection.

They are not panicking. But they are conflicted.

And when that happens, we usually have not so good results.

We are about at the stage where if push gets to shove, we see another wacky idea.

Oh, we don't need the RB, we have the WR talent now.

I hate to say it, this OL is not built for a passing-centric offense.

It’s becoming more apparent the growing sentiment was to run him in the ground the next 2 years and let him go. And probably why Elliott is rising up.
This what was going to happen, the same thing they did to Murray Zeke and his agent I've seen that now is the time that it's value is the most that's why he's holding out.

Why?

Because we're probably just weeks away from the next off-field incident.
If you don’t think we need Zeke then let him sit or try to trade him. You better hurry though before the next incident. Lol

Elliott has no leverage...

He has all the leverage...

I think the reality is somewhere between. He has some leverage because the Cowboys didn't have a good Plan B and were focused on other contracts. But he also has baggage and is just giving the Cowboys another reason to consider moving on from him.

I'm hoping a reasonable accord is reached but if emotions are involved it could turn into a stalemate where both parties lose something.

The offense runs through the offensive line.

It's amazing people don't realize this but comeGameDay they parrot... without thought... Platitudes like "the game is won in the trenches."
Zeke was the final piece to the offensive line. Still can’t take away his skill set. He is a true elite bell cow. He has punishing speed, vision, hands, blocking skills, and the ability to put a team on his back. The offensive line is great but Robert Smith couldn’t crack bell cow status with his chance.

Zeke is a chump, always has been, always will be. Much to my dismay, I’m sure he’ll be around for years to come, I just hope he doesn’t get suspended, hurt or kill our salary cap on an expendable position.

Zeke would be barely above average behind most O lines, as would a lot of RB’s.

Good luck with that hollow ploy,FOOTBALL DaD done stated the fact you don't need no 'premier RB' in attaining that coveted Lombardi,,, er,,,& the counter to that 24 years of nothing burger in that Lombardi quest,,,I'm quite content in seeing it go 26 years in the wilderness of nothing if it hand grenades "I,me,me,mine" players attitudes,,,,effectively turning out the lights on their very narrow &over valued views,,,just sayingo_O

I'm not justifying, or trying to convince you of anything.
Just saying what's going on in the world of sports.

This is all a game of chicken before the August 6th reporting deadline. If Zeke doesn’t report by then- he loses a year towards free agency. No matter what his agent is telling him - he can’t undue the collective bargaining agreement. The question becomes, is his agent willing to burn the bridge in Dallas and think he can force a trade if Zeke sits out the year?
If that is the case, they may find out just how much hard ball Jerry can play
