Zeke (i.e., Zeke’s agent) wants a deal better than what Gurley got last year. Jerry’s not paying that. We’ll see who blinks first. Based on what’s been reported about Zeke’s lifestyle, it’s not likely he can afford to miss game checks, but maybe. In the meantime Moore, Garrett and Kitna can come up with gameplans to move the ball and score without Zeke. Jason’s done it before without a rushing champ.

He should be. Jerry stood by him and went to bat for him, then this. Elliott just isn't very sharp or is getting bad advice from his agent. Having Jerry in his corner Zeke would've been well taken care of at some point.

Isn't very sharp?

I'd say a running back who averages a whopping 25 touches per game should hold out to get paid. Why risk injury and extra wear and tear when you can sit 10 games and still accrue another season toward free agency?

@aria will admit to you, himself, that he's a bit biased against Zeke and he posts so.
Just understand the poster and it won't bug you as much.

Understandable. Zeke has a lot of faults.. but not many of the are on the football field. Hes the most complete RB in the league. He picks up the blitz well. Catches the ball out of the backfield well. Elite speed. Elite power. Very high end vision. Hard to ask for much more then that.
And last year the line he was running behind was not near as elite as we would like to believe. Hopefully it will back to its glory this season!!!!

We’ve hung banners with chumps, Thugs and criminals before .

Landry and Jimmy both tolerated this type of behavior because you need their talent to win.

It’s why elite college coaches are recruiting in the Hood for freakish talent to help them win. The NFL gets the cream of the crop.

Bring me your dog killers , drug addicts and domestic violence . We will tolerate almost anything if you’ve got talent. And make you rich and famous. Welcome to the NFL.
True, very true but again, how many times has a leading rusher won the Super Bowl? Zeke is luxury, not a necessity.

IMOF, Zeke is more of a headache than anything. You know who should endorse Zeke? Advil. They could promote a supersized, double dose, pill that signifies the size of his HUGE head and the size of the HUGE headaches he creates for his team and fans.

He’s excelled at every level. He would be elite on any team in any league.
He’s been put in the perfect position his entire career. There’s no doubt he’s very good but he wouldn’t have had the same success in college say...behind the Penn State O line or the Giants O line last year.

As much as I would like to see Jerry play hardball with Zeke, I think before game 1 EZ will be the highest paid RB in the league.

JJ is too rich and too old to start working on another window.

Absolutely and I don’t say this with pride but it seems a lot of people are starting to agree with me Corso. Zeke’s true colors are starting to show. Some people will continue to make excuses for him and others will start to see him for who he really is.

Unfortunately I think you’re right.

Would you feel better if Elliot finished second in the league in rushing. Would that present a greater opportunity to win a championship ?

The Fan reported that Jerry was completed caught off guard by the Zeke holdout and is severely ticked off.

They pointed to the amount of support the team had given settle in numerous off-field issues, including perhaps some we don't know about.

This could get pretty ugly.

Good. Zeke needs to go. Completely moronic to build a team around a RB. It’s not 1960. Trade him to the Chiefs and sign the other key guys.

So what happened in the Denver game? How many yards did he rush for? Take me for a walk down memory lane.

They stacked the box and basically knew where the ball was going. And our O line got whooped.

One game vs the last 3 seasons is not making any points.
Guy lead the league last year in rushing behind a decent at best Oline. Zeke is the most complete back in the league. Hopefully our Oline returns to dominance. Then he would be a little more expendable. But no average to good RB would have lead the league in rushing yards last year behind our beat up O line.

Hard to take reports like this as legitimate, but when Jerry starts talking in the media, it's usually pretty easy to see if it's his tail wagging or if he's baring his teeth.

I still don't get what Elliott thinks he's doing here. He's got not leverage, will have to report, and it just makes him look like a malcontent on top of being a player with little judgement at a position where careers are short. Makes no sense.

Actually this is the time that Zeke has the most leverage name another time that he will have more then now.

I’m still not convinced Zeke is actually holding out but conditioning privately while the RB’s below him get situated. Jerry and co can get the Cowboys in the media’s mouth anytime of the year. I could be wrong but...
