Did anyone seriously think Owens was going anywhere with the new stadium opening up next year??? Jerry's main objective is to fill those seats. Owens can help the cause.

There were a lot of other reasons to keep him such as financial impact as well as the fact that we don't have anyone waiting to fill that roll.

It was a logical no bariner to keep him for a number of reasons. I never had any doubts.

It is kind of funny how the media are usually idiots and liars who know nothing of what's going on with our team... Until they say TO is staying.

The "media" made the claims that TO was going to be released in one way or another. Nothing from the team in an official way ever confirmed that.

The Cowboys, more specifially, Jerry Jones has now stated that they are keeping TO and the "media" reported on that.

Try harder next time.

He has been with us 3 years and produced over 1,000 yard each year 38 TD including 10 this past season. I fully expect Owens to go out and produce again this season.

Hasn't Clayton been saying for weeks that Dallas would most likely keep him?

Although I think Miles is good I don't think he's nearly as good as TO.

One guy has 18 career catches. The other guy has 140 career TD catches.

I like Austin a lot but I don't think it was ever a question of choosing one or the other.

Yo, Apollo.... but its real, real close. :lmao2:

Half the people on here accuse the media of making stuff up about Terrell Owens when it shows him in a negative light.

But then when rotoworld comes up with a headline that makes those same people happy they run with it like Jerry called them at home to give them the info.

It's just silly.

Just as silly as every one in the THC clinging to every speculation from Shefter, King, Werdre, Engle and trying to defend their reporting on their "sources"

This is football, not reporting for Holocaust atrocities. The stock anyone puts (for or against) "sources" from the Entertainment Sports Programming Network or quite frankly any newspaper hack trying to increase circulation and reader response is being sucked.

It should be obvious today that TO is about 99.9% not going t be released. Sure the signing bonus isn;t due until June 1, but out of veteren respect, players are cut "before" FA begins as to give them time pursue the teams with their full allotment of cap space. You dont cut Marvin Harrison or Derrick brooks on May 31 when teams have already spent most of the FA cap space.

There is no June 1 cap relief this year so the only "outside chance" is if there is some deal on draft day that nets Crabtree or Macklin by moving up in the 1st round-and I don't see NAY feasible way for that to happen

I don't need anyone in the media to tell me that, the TO is gone crowd was wrong, whether their sources were overzealous or they put 1 +1 together and got 10^30

That's funny.

ESPN reporter says the team is considering releasing TO? Lies from no-nothing clowns who will do anything for ratings! They don't know anything!

ESPN reporter says the team is keeping TO? Done deal! Game over! I told you so!

No difference other than what the reporters are claiming. And of course which side you're rooting for.

When did Jerry Jones utter the words 'We are definitely 100% for sure keeping Terrell Owens'?

Just asking.

So you are 100% sure that he's here in 2009?

I am not. I still think it's 50/50.

Why?

Because if it was 100% Jerry would be letting you know that it was 100% because he would love nothing more than to prove all the speculation going on in the media over the past month wrong.

So again, you are 100% sure he's coming back?

Not many things in life are 100% expect for death and taxes. I do think it is better than 50/50 that Owens will return

The sad thing about them CL is that they aren't even clever.

They are all so transparent. I just laid out where the Rotoworld story came from, a report from Clayton that is over a week old, and some will still act like this is new info and now the speculation can be put to rest, lol.

Silly. Just pure silliness, lol.

Owens WILL return here in 2009 and play at least this season with the team. I have absolutely zero doubt about that.

Is it really anymore silly than people who are grasping for these straws that they're getting rid of him? You haven't seen a single shred of evidence that it was actually even discussed that they were going to cut or trade him yet people have been on here speculating to high heaven about it.

I saw someone say earlier in the thread that it was funny that a report that Jerry said this made people act like Jerry himself had called them and told them he was staying.

Well for those chomping at the bit, digging their toes in, and getting their blood pressures up about how they know that Stephen Jones wants him out of Dallas and is trying to talk his dad into getting him out how do you guys know that? A report? That's it? You mean Stephen didn't personally call the anti-TO brigade members and say "Hey guys I'm doing what I can to get him out of here. Stay tuned."

Shocking.

Now... your "zero doubt" is that absolute or is there this 50-50 nonsense that I keep reading about.

:laugh2:

I once claimed to get "smarter" reading this board thanks to all the knowledgeable people on here. This thread is reversing that. :D

Nah I'm 100% that he'll stay. I let it fall to about 70/30 he'd be here at one point but I've seen absolutely nothing to make me actually believe he's not going to be here.

One thing for sure no one has ever been wrong when they are 50/50. His bases are covered no matter what happens. :laugh2:
