No, to me, Roy was taking accountability, but to me in a way jerry jones was saying that he didnt have to, everything was ok. I wanted roy to admit his mistakes so he can correct them and improve so he can be the player he can be and more. Just thats the way i read part of it;

we all read things differently when we read things; at least i know i do and i have seen some others do the same thing.
Its like my good buddy DC said, sometimes its better to listen to a podcast so you can formulate your own opinion and thoughts.

Kinda like the issue with theebs and what supposedly brad sham said after his post game remarks on what bartel said. Theebs read something else or heard something else into what was said;

exactly, thats the point ive been trying to make, its not so much the support jerry said about roy williams, but i didnt want or thought jerry shouldnt have said that

even roy williams said its on me, i take blame, let him take blame and improve, dont color it with rose colored glasses and let roy williams think everything is ok dont worry

thats the point i was trying to make;

havent we all wanted the players to be accoutable, like when tony romo took the blame for a loss in a game awhile back. Then let the players stand up and be accountable so they correct those problmes.

Roy DID stand up and take responsibility for his failures, and Jerry did nothing more than give the player a vote of confidence... he expressed the opinion that a Roy with focus will make an impact in the playoffs...

In no way did he excuse Roy's relative lack of production to this point... which is why I, along with a number of other posters, take issue with you raggin' on Jerry... it seems like you're just pursuing your own agenda, trying to make something of NOTHING...

There is a chance Roy could still make game breaking plays as a complimentary player but Jerry opened his mouth fully and inserted his dress leather shoes in the orfice yet again with regards to Williams being a Legit #1

Just went back and reread Jerry's quote, and I see absolutely nothing about Roy "being a Legit #1"... perhaps you should try practicing reading comprehension...

To help you out in that worthy goal, here's the quote again:

Then why hasn't it happened yet?

"If we all knew about how to correct areas of criticism, then we'd be geniuses," Jones said. "But I think he's made some big plays. I think we'll continue to give him the opportunity to make plays. He'll be on the field."

Nope, I don't see anything about "legit #1" in that, at all... I see:

"On a personal basis and professional basis, I have not [lost confidence]."

"I know the kinds of plays he is capable of making and can make"

"I think he's made some big plays. I think we'll continue to give him the opportunity to make plays"

So, to sum up, Jerry thinks that Roy is capable of making big plays, and that he has made SOME big plays for the Cowboys already"...

Anything more is your agenda, based on nothing factual...

I still think roy williams can be a force, he just needed his rear end kicked, read the post above where i posted what roy said on dallascowboys.com about his family getting on him big time and roy going back to the juggs machine to catch balls better.

I see-- Roy is down on himself for not producing like he thinks he should, is putting pressure on himself, which he believes is causing the drops...

So YOUR response is to put more pressure on him, make him even tighter...

You'd suck as a coach, pal-- there is no "one size fits all" answer for dealing with players... LAZY players need their butts kicked, need to have pressure put on them... but hard-working players who are "playing tight" need to have some pressure taken off of them, so they can lighten up on themselves and go out and perform up to their abilities...

till a player takes accountablity and admits he has messed up, he cant improve

roy is doing that now, i think either this week or next week you will see a vast improvement

In which case, Jerry's vote of confidence is EXACTLY the right move, from a motivational standpoint... so again, why are you insulting Jerry for backing Roy right now??

I find that confusing, and to be honest with you, kind of annoying... Jerry does some things wrong, but it's a ridiculous knee-jerk overreaction to attack him for EVERYTHING he does, the way you seem to be here lately...

I am guilty, I confess it, that something I need to work on, but again, I feel that all jerry jones should have said was roy is being accountable now and doing some different things to help his game and the cowboys, thats all you need to know!

I'm sorry, because I really do like you, and because folks are attacking you right now, but that's just STUPID...

Roy has gone beyond being "accountable", his quotes tell you that he's putting pressure on himself to perform, undue pressure in my opinion, and that's a causatory factor behind the drops the last coupla weeks... and it seems to me that Jerry's thinking the same way, so he decided to more or less give Roy a public pep talk in that interview...

To me, he's saying "Relax, Roy, and let it come to you, and you'll make some big plays for us in the playoffs"... and to me, the psychology behind that is quite sound...

Some players need a kick in the butt, some players need a pat on the back...
