“Let me be very affirmative: I completely believe that we have the quarterback that can take us where we need to go.”

Straight to the Gift Shop to buy jerseys and merch....

Jerry is a salesman, he's not going to badmouth his product. The fact that Jerry felt the need to address the QB situation without being asked tells that he understands and is aware of the outside perception of Dak.

The Trecy Lance trade was already an affirmation of Jerry's doubts about Dak.
Snake Oil, Elixir's, PSL's? Which I fell for, but got out (at break even).

More good news ladies and gentlemen

I keep telling you all this guys Botox injections have gone to his brain.

He doesn’t give a damn if the cowboys lose as long as the fans gobble up his garbage and the stadium is full.

This guy know marketing and nothing else… but he surrounds himself with idiots and yes men.

Prescott is not going to take you to the promised land, unless that is a 1st round exit in the playoffs…
If they make the playoffs…

Real fans want changes, turn your back on this team. Once the profits fall, Jerry will pay attention…

...Big Mike can coach, but not call plays. Give the job to someone else.

I do not know why Jerry must insists on Dak being a "franchise QB"?

He was a 4th round pick. He had a very good rookie season and has been a downward spiral since then. The Dak pick was a crap shoot. The sooner Jerry realizes this and moves on the better! It was a good pick, for a fourth round pick, but Dak isn't and never will be a franchise QB. Time for another direction under center.

It’s because of his contract, not his ability.

Jerry has to protect his investment and he thinks saying these things protects it.

Based on past events, when Jerry stops talking, that’s when something is up.

So Coach Mac and Dak are secure for now. And rightly so.

As bad as the big games have been the last decade, Jerry is still a hell of a lot better than most the armchair GMs in the fanbase who want to panic over everything. Most fans can’t even get the QB right. Only backup who has earned a shot is Cooper Rush, not Trey Lance.

I can feel the Hutch, Henson, Quincy Days coming back. QBs who are woefully unprepared being propped up by the fans and our ‘GM.’

What do you expect the Joneses to say at this point? We are stuck with Dak through 2024. Outside of drafting a QB next season, they are going to groom Trey Lance and him ready to compete next season.

He said the same thing about Jason Garrett and also Zeke before moving on. Any changes to the squad from Jerry will happen in the offseason.

Dak guaranteed money from his current contract will be fully paid at the conclusion of this season (126M)
Cowboys save $34M by cutting Dak (post-June cut)

Even the dumbest GM with Dak's performance over the last few years understands that it is time to move on.
Still leaves 25 million in dead space for 2 years, and an additional 11 million the year after. The best course of action is to keep him on board, unfortunately.

Here’s what would be appropriate for Jerry to say at some point soon:
”It is time for some new leadership for the Dallas Cowboys. So today we are announcing the hiring of ______ as our GM. He will make a decision on the hiring of our next head coach. Stephen and I will continue to serve in a financial role with the team. Our new GM will be handling all football operations.”

I realize as long as Jerral Wayne is drawing breath this won’t happen. But since you asked what we should expect them to say…that’s what I expect.

Has a QB ever been extended and then asked to go sit on the bench? I know it is a cap killer but I would rather cut our losses now and move on from Dak!

It’s like the question yesterday to Coach Mac asking him if he has fear and less hope about his roster now. LOL

That’s why I miss Parcells press conferences. He would have fun with the dumb questions.

Would it have been better if he said. “I’m in a panic. We clearly don’t have a QB who can help us win in the playoffs”.

They don't have to pay QB big money in the short-term. Extension means wasting Micah Parsons years

 Suuuuurreee it is.
What, he still has to ask his Mommy to do something he is entitled to do as to authority. He just can't hire and fire ... but can make his wishes known as well as make his own cases. He is an established leader at the top shelf of responsible.
