I like Dak but the reality is he is more of a rags to riches story. Once he gets paid the pressure will mount for him to win. Good guy but I don’t think we can win a Super Bowl with him. If one of those top 5 quarterbacks falls to 10, the Joneses should draft the player. The Cowboys will be in the spotlight the rest of the offseason. The Joneses will make more money because they would have a shiny new toy. Debate shows will be debating this for the next 3 seasons.I’ve noticed the light bulb is finally starting to flicker on here at the Zone in terms of seeing what I’ve been saying about this for a couple of years now.
If we don’t sign the Dak deal I’m sure it will just become common knowledge of something that just had to done.
If you see Dalton walk away/sign elsewhere then you can bet Jerry will sign #4. If Dalton stays and there are no "Shefter" sources indicating interest in Dalton then he is staying and #4 is walking...bank it!No mistake was made as Jerry didn't believe in him 2 years ago and the same holds firm today.
Yes, they are trying to find a trade partner but I fear to no avail.
Expect Prescott to be released and have Winston's fate in FA.
Cowboys will move up in the Draft and select a QB with their 1st rounder.
Dalton will start the 2021 season.
That's all for now folks.....

What a surprise. The 2 zillionth rip on Prescott thread was started. Who could have seen this coming.
I am agreement with Broaddus. Let these quarterbacks play on 5 year contracts. Unless the are top level star players let them go. Mac Jones would win win rookie of the year with our receivers. Lance would be the talk of the league with his athleticism. I don’t think the big 3 fall to us.If Justin Fields is there I think you can basically replace Dak with Dak.
Lance I’m not sure about.. Mac Jones I like but I’m a little worried about where the league is trending with athletic QBs and getting a guy like him but he does remind me of 2014 Romo..
He can move around and makes smart decisions with the ball.

The GM is the common denominator the last 25 years.Signing Dak wouldn't be the cause of mediocrity any more than Garrett was the cause. They are symptoms.
Dak or no Dak the mediocrity is still going to be around, screwing things up as they have for 25 years.
Sign him, you lose for sure! We just are not a good enough team for it to matter right now anyway. May be more entertaining with Dak but the end results won't change. You will make it farther with Dak than with someone like Dalton for sure but no cigar!Sign him, we lose. Let him go,we lose. Who cares at this point.
Darnold has all the physical tools but you have to wonder if the guy will ever recover mentally. When he came out he reminded me a lot of Aikmans first couple of years where you saw a ton of promise and just figured it was a matter of time. Now, you just don't know.Just draft a guy or see what it would take to acquire Darnold because I think he is a great risk / reward if the price is right.
Well that was until the defense showed up and brought everyone back down to reality!OK I'm calling BS on that. With a healthy OL and Dak many were picking this team to be in the super bowl. That was just 6 months ago.
Sad but trueThing is, the Jones boys (not to mention a few fans) convinced themselves that the Cowboys had a "loaded roster" and were ready to win in 2020.
They signed a few names on the back end of careers, recycled McCarthy, and thought they were going places. That's how clueless the Cowboys have become.
Good luck starting over with the same two jokers calling the shots. I've seen this story more than once and know how it ends.

You're right. We would have won 13 games with Tom Brady. (your idea) even with our defence allowing 40 points a game. lol. Oh yeah. And we were missing our entire OL. So Brady wouldnt have made it past week 4. But hey.My gosh Jeff Saturday is an idiot.
“They aren’t a 6-10 football team with Dak Prescott on the field.”
We were a watermelon kick away from 0-4 you donut.
What are we with him? 7-9? 8-8?
Get out of here with this nonsense.. This overrating of Dak is part of the problem.
Because you cant draft a defence. Theres 100s of mocks on this very site showing you can correct a lot of the issues on the defence by drafting the right player. What I don’t get is why we need to pay Dak all this money but we also need to build a Super team around him.
The team he needs to win with is a team that if Andy Dalton had could get you to the same place Dak does.
Either focus on team building or sign Dak and accept our mediocrity.
You aren’t building a champion and paying this guy though.
