This is basically a twin thread to another thread that I made. That said, I think it's clear what needs to be done for the Cowboys to make a run this year. Jerry Jones must trade for Derrick Henry.

Our biggest weaknesses, as I see them, is oline play and our running game. I submit that our issue is congruent because we don't have a back that runs with the style that our running game plan. Consider that our oline core is accustomed to blocking for the likes of Demarco Murray, Darren McFadden, and Zeke. Now, they're being asked to block for the likes of Pollard, Dowdle, and Vaughn (I'd like for Luepke to be more involved, but that's for another thread). Pollard is not Murray or Zeke. He's a back who thrives on outside runs. If only there was a team on a fire sale that has a back that might fit our offense. Oh, that's right, the Titans just made a trade with Philly. Perhaps it's time Jerry shakes their tree to see if we can get Derrick Henry. I would see if they'd take Dowdle and a 2nd for Henry. I say second because, with our draft history, Jerry will probably waste our second round pick anyway. Trading Dowdle saves us the trouble of cutting him and making room for DH.

I think if Dallas makes this move, then it would become a move that could shift the balance in the NFC. The 49ers can't stop the run. The Eagles just traded for a safety. I think trading for Derrick Henry would be the perfect response for the Eagles move, and I think Derrick Henry, with our offense, can be the difference in us beating SFO. Perhaps that could be the big move that the Cowboys need?
What good is Henry if he doesn't have an O-Line that will block for him. Our O-Line is a joke at times and that's with all of it's starters!!!!!!!!!! The Cowboys need to find an O-Line coach that will light a fire under our O-Line's ***!

Marc Colombo is probably available. That said, I think there's also the possibility with our oline that our running backs are a square peg in a round hole. I think we can do both. Replace the oline coach and get DH. There's no salary cap on coaches.

I started a similar thread about a week ago and it was almost immediately moved to another section. Was that because I didn't add any additional context or write an accompanying paragraph? Strange...

Not sure. I'm sure it was a great thread. That said, I suppose you and I are in agreement.

That still won't fix the problem with the offense.

No matter how many times you say it.

I know, and McCarthy needs to fix what he needs to fix. I just want Jerry to at least show that he cares though. I liked what he did with Cooks. I loved the trade for Gillmore. I think we are close, and I've said what I've said about this topic. The fact of the matter is, I hate that the Eagles take chances while we sit around. I mean, it may not work always, but I get what the Eagles are doing. I don't understand why our FO seems hesitant. Is it the best idea to just let the Eagles waltz to another SB appearance? Do we think that we can compete now? If McCarthy fails, then he's gone. But the coaches have come and gone. The players have come and gone. There's been one constant who thinks he knows what he's doing, and we end up with the same dish every year.

And that being said, is he worth a 2nd? I say yet. Dallas is sorely missing Zeke. What's a better way to mitigate that loss? Go get Derrick Henry. Man, If i'm Jerry Jones, then I'm going to get Derrick Henry today. Do what it takes. Go get him Jerry Jones. Redzone offense solved with adding Derrick Henry.

If it takes a 2nd, then yes, he's worth it. Besides, if he goes elsewhere afterwards, we get a comp pick. So, we aren't just trading for a player. We are also potentially trading for a draft pick.

jerry would get fleeced but i wouldnt give a second for Henry. I wouldnt do any more than a 4th. I also as much as i love henry and want him think that the line is a bigger issue than the backs we have

I bet he improves this team a lot. It would be a shot in the arm for this offense.
