On the starting QB thingy...If the Cowboy's offered a pick and money they might be able to pry Jimmy Garoppolo from the Pats.

I've seen this theory making the rounds. Any truth or substance to it or just someone doing some 'fantasy football' speculating?

They have done that before and I think I'd rather have him than the 3 QB's rated where they are in this draft.

Keep in mind that even if you did get him, you'd have him for just two years on the cheap. And then you're forced to pay or watch him walk out the door. With the rookie, you have 5 years at a reasonable rate.

Ah??? Wentz didn't play that many games his senior year. Oh, he didn't play that many college games either and all
were against inferior teams with inferior talent
. Geez...find some new material.

Ramsey didn't do anything against the so called better teams and better talent (also playing with better talent around him). But Wentz is a risk and Ramsey is a sure thing. LOL.

Well, if Romo was to go down bigtime and we had to start over with a new franchise QB, Jimmy might fit the bill and we could
pay him then. I just saw several reports on the possibility and it was mentioned on DC.com by one of their writers. They
didn't think much of the idea though the thought is worth considering.

I hear Putin is looking for someone to help him manage his phantasy football team this year...Might be
a career changer for you.

I checked his Yahoo trophy case...he just doesn't have any trophies and keeps all winnings for himself.

Now...Now! You and I both know that there are no sure things in the Draft unless you're in a position to get someone
like Luck or another Aikman.

I don't care how many QB's the Cowboys bring in or DRAFT...Without Romo healthy, we are never going to smell a Championship
in the next 5-10 years. That's a fact...Jack!

That could be, sir. A healthy Romo is a thing of beauty. Just don't count on his having a third career playoff victory. Ever. I say this because of his brittle bones and back and his age and the continued upgrades of younger, hungrier teams that will be gunning for us, whether we are atop the East or at the bottom.

Keep this in mind...If we flop again this year and wind up in the top 5 again, there will be at least 3 more QB's we can draft in next
year's draft. I'm for rolling the dice with Romo this year to see if number 9 comes up. I think Jerry is too!

Ah! go ahead and say it. The trip to Siberia will do you some good. I hear the Black Sea is nice in summer!

Do not discount the Steppes. Yalta, Odessa, too, are to die for. The sturgeon and caviar and cured beluga are excellent as you watch the ships go by. How do I know all this, you might ask? All I can say is four words: Post-War Naval Investigations.

If Goff and Wentz are both gone by #4? I might give New England a call.

You can't count on anything when you roll the dice. You can always roll snake eyes... That's what I call taking a risk.

It's pretty obvious this staff is just not ready to plan for post-Romo.

So it's pretty obvious QB is not at the top.

We will go after a FA vet to plug in.

Just as we always have.

Look...

in the last 5 plus years this staff couldn't get anybody to win as a backup.

We obviously don't have the staff to do that.

Kitna was the only one. And he won in spite of this staff.

So I highly doubt we want to take on a project like a rookie QB development.

We should leave that for when Garrett is replaced.

And what if we don't "flop again"? Where does 'at least 3 more QB's" come from then? I'm sorry but this just sounds ignorant of the facts. Saying "there will be at least 3 more QB's" shows me that you haven't put much thought or research into the facts.

I'll reiterate that we had three first round talents join the team last year and it didn't do a thing to improve this team's record. Not a blessed thing.

Geez...come on. You know that there will be at least 2 QB's from next year's draft that will be all the rage when we get to next year. It happens
every year like clockwork. You also should do your homework and see how many rookie QB's can/have lead their team to the playoffs when the
main guy goes down let alone with this Dallas coaching staff. That's what I figured.

Again, that's ignorant thinking. And a minute ago, it was 3? We lost one already? And you're once again conveniently leaving out the fact that if we don't "flop" again this year, we won't be anywhere near being able to get one of them anyway!

You also should do your homework and see how many rookie QB's can/have lead their team to the playoffs when the main guy goes down let alone with this Dallas coaching staff. That's what I figured.

You should 'do your homework' before making assumptions that I care about any of that. I don't expect for one second that any quarterback would take this team to the playoffs if Romo went down. And if that's your criteria, they should never draft one because no one will ever be ready. Not this year, not next year, not ever.

Maybe there will be 4 or maybe just 1...what I meant was who knows right now.

If you don't expect any of them to be another Luck, why not just buy an experienced QB from the Pats and be done with it.
Drafting a QB to sit on the bench is not what I call "smart planning" when Jerry thinks we might have a chance to get to the
dance "this year". Likely we will not but, he's pulling the strings and spending his money so I'll just enjoy the journey.
