I have a VERY hard time believing Jerry doesn't want to work with ROC Nation and Jay Z given the marketing possibilities.
Jerry has never turned out a chance to market.

With the tag who Dez has as agent is really not a big deal.

I dont know if Jerry would risk losing Dez over an agent, what do you guys think? In my opinion Dez has earned every cent of his new contract, and I think he stays in Dallas. Im for it, i love Dez, and his passion for the game. Loves to win, and hes a beast when hes on. Hard to find that talent again.

I love Dez too, but his performance this year has been a bit concerning, and some of his numbers (YAC being the big one) are trending down the past few years.

Paying him 100m with a big chunk guaranteed seems pretty imprudent if you ask me. He's no Megatron.

I'm sure there is some reluctance anytime you are dealing with agents you have never worked with before. I don't see Dez getting Calvin Johnson money but I do think Dallas will be able to get him top 5 money which would be around an avg of 11 mill a year.

I'm sure the Jones' don't like switching agents during a negotiation. I've read that ROC has CAA do their negotiating. If that is true those are the same agents that represent Romo and Witten.

I think Dez wants at least top 3 pay, which is disappointing... yes, he does deserve it, but I was hoping he would take 2-3 mil a year off (around 9-11 mil). As pointed out in another forum dez can make more in endorsements, and helping dallas save money only help his chances at a SB... very disappointed in his narrow vision.

Is Jerry working on the Dez deal personally, anyway? Stephen normally handles the contract negotiations, though Jerry might give a reunion tour for the high profile guys, I'm not sure.

If Dez wants to maximize his marketing potential, he should stay in Dallas. Dez might get an offer for more money from another team, but his marketing potential will not be even close to what he has as a Cowboy in my opinion. Oakland, Cleveland, Jacksonville, NY Jets just don't pack the same punch.

Although, the only football player I see on TV pitching products is Peyton Manning. A little of Sherman, but that is about it.

Mike Fisher's take:

- Monster misunderstanding about Dez' Jay-Z Roc Nation Sports signing. Stories about there being negative issues so far are false. Jerry is not unhappy; hasn't spoken to Dez or Jay-Z Roc Nation Sports. CAA (Tom Condon) will be in charge of the contract negotiations. Manufactured media garbage saying there's a problem of any kind.

Dez is probably top 5 or close to it. There are some agenst Jerruh does not want to deal with - one of t he reasons they went with Ware instead of Merriman was he had switched to an agent Jerruh really did not like.

You can't claim that without naming the WRs that are better. :)

That's the $64,000 question isn't it?

This year he is ranked 13th in yards. In 2013 he ranked 13th in yards.

Last year he ranked 3rd for TD receptions and this year he is ranked 8th.

To me it looks like an argument could be made for Top 4-6 money probably in the neighborhood of $11-12m a year.

Keep in mind Jordy Nelson signed for $9.5m/year this offseason and Antonio Brown signed for $8.5m/year last year. On the other hand, the Dolphins overpaid Mike Wallace last season at $12m/year.
