This team is doomed if Dez isn't on it? I just don't buy into that school of thought Frozen.

I don't view Dez Bryant as that kind of transcendent player.

The delta in production between a Dez Bryant and a WR ranked somewhere in the 15-20 range just isn't that great. Those guys are more likely to be in in the 70 catch / 1000 yard / 7-8 TD range, however, the delta between Dez's 90 catches / 1300 yards / 13-14 TDs certainly not the difference between winning a losing lots of games as you are inferring.

Guess what happens? Good QBs / good offensive system just distribute the ball differently -- they adjust.

There are plenty of example of what good QBs and great systems can do just fine without great / elite WRs. Look at Brady. Look at Rodgers despite in the past two years Jennings / James Jones / Jermichael Finley / etc being gone. The offenses just keep producing.

In summary I refuse to accept the gloomy prediction that Cowboys would doomed without Dez just like I refuse the accept the predictions often repeated here on CZ that if the Cowboys don't have Romo next year they are good for just 3 wins.

Bring in a Decent QB or Draft 1. Keep Dez. We are good to go still.

Lose Dez, bring back Romo or draft a high profile QB. We will be crap.

Williams and Beasley are not scaring anyone 1 0n 1 consistently. Williams is not Sanu to Dez(AJ) Or Alshon to Dez(B.Mar), And Romo does not have the zip and or patience to fit the ball into tight spaces to beasley, like Brady does to Julian Edleman.

So we are doomed.

Do you remember a few years ago, we had to play a limp legged Dez because we had no other threats? He was still balling, the lions game comes to mind, before Romo and JG threw the game away.

Remember when Dez went down with that back injury vs washington? All of a sudden they got confident, and we just flat out sucked.

2 Games too judge a players entire body of work. Makes sense. Good thing you werent judging romo after the seatte bobble, or we wouldnt have a starting QB worth mentioning right now.

He peaked two years ago.

Its not just #s. Dez requires the attention of 2 defensive players. That opens up things dramatically for our offense. Even when covered by a great defensive back, Dez can be dominate and require the defense to adjust to him. Of course, unless Weeden is playing. Then you or I could substitute for Dez or any wideout and the result would be practically the same.

Dez has been pretty much shut out in the last two losses. Defenses are pretty much figuring him out. That is why he needs Romo and fast. No offense to Weeden! Who did all he could!

If Dez wants to maximize his marketing potential, he should stay in Dallas. Dez might get an offer for more money from another team, but his marketing potential will not be even close to what he has as a Cowboy in my opinion. Oakland, Cleveland, Jacksonville, NY Jets just don't pack the same punch.

Although, the only football player I see on TV pitching products is Peyton Manning. A little of Sherman, but that is about it.

I think with james back, and JF starting next year... he would be okay as a pitch man in Cleveland

Defenses aren't figuring out Dez any more than they have in the first six games. The difference the last 2 games is the dramatic change in philosophy in how we run our offense.

He hasn't drawn double coverage in at least two weeks, maybe longer. He was shut down by a rookie cornerstone two weeks ago.

Witten got 'shut out' that last game too.. as did Beasley, Williams and all of our other receivers. They all got figured out right?

When Weeden actually threw Dez accurate passes at the end of the game, we scored, no problem.

You're nuts. Washington played with a safety over the top the entire game.

It's all just posturing. Jerry is letting the world, and ROC, know that he's averse to signing a ridiculous contract just in case that's what ROC tries to initially bring to the table. He managed to completely avoid saying "Don't bring that weak bleep up in here", while actually saying it loud and clear.

Jerry doesn't care who your agent is, he cares about the numbers. Behind closed doors, he's probably a little more apt to believe a workable deal can get done with Jay-Z's company rather than an agent, with all the marketing opportunities. If anyone knows marketing, it's Jerral Wayne Jones.

It's easy to volunteer someone else to take less money. Actually, you could say it's selfish. Would you be willing to guarantee his entire contract in exchange for those "few" millions?

Absolutely
