he's top 5 but right now jordy nelson , julio jones , and antonio brown are playing better. I probably would only consider taking Jones over dez though.

That's the $64,000 question isn't it?

This year he is ranked 13th in yards. In 2013 he ranked 13th in yards.

Last year he ranked 3rd for TD receptions and this year he is ranked 8th.

To me it looks like an argument could be made for Top 4-6 money probably in the neighborhood of $11-12m a year.

Keep in mind Jordy Nelson signed for $9.5m/year this offseason and Antonio Brown signed for $8.5m/year last year. On the other hand, the Dolphins overpaid Mike Wallace last season at $12m/year.

I'm guessing we get him for something like 5 years $50-$55M. That puts him at 31/32 when the contract is over.

They will be a lot of Great Free agent Wrs after this season. Cobb, D Thomas,, Dez Bryant. Other notables Welker, Crabtree, White Maclin. He can be replaced.

I want to keep dez I do think he is a top 5 WR but I don't want to pay him top 5 money. I would give him brandon marshall, jordy nelson type money but not calvin johnson, mike wallace, or Fitzgerald money.

He may be worth but that's a big hit for one position

Calvin Johnson
Antonio Bryant
Demaryis Thomas
Jordy Nelson
Julio Jones
AJ Green

Any of those guys are at least as good as Dez. I'd pay him as a top 5, but I wouldn't pay beyond that.

Antonio Bryant?

I guess I'm not familiar with an Antonio Bryant that is in the league now and the one that previously was certainly was not on the level of Dez Bryant.

I highly doubt many of them will actually be available. They will sign with their current club or be tagged. Even if they were available, how many on that list are as good/young as Dez?

Was thinking the same thing. He's been out of the league for a while, hasn't he? That's what you get when you throw your sweaty towel in Parcells' face!

I thought JJ and Jay knew each other and that Jay is a huge Cowboys fan. Why would this be an issue? If JJ lets Dez walk that will seal his legacy it's such a dumb move.

More media nonsense and making stuff up.

I could see if it was baseball after seeing the deal that Cano got with the Mariners. But, they know this is football and the NFL has salary cap restrictions. I don't think Jerry is reluctant to deal with any agent. Just more idiotic speculation.

You can't claim that without naming the WRs that are better. :)

1) CJ
2) Julio Jones
3) Damarius Thomas
4) Antonio Brown
5) Jordy Nelson
6) Jeremy Maclin
7) TY Hilton
8) Randal Cobb
9) Desean Jackson

2-9 are having a better season, except CJ. But Megatron keeps number 1 as default because he is that good.

Maybe. As far as I'm concerned, from 4 on down, those players aren't in Dez' class--no matter what the numbers say. I'd be very comfortable with giving Dez top-5 money for his position for a long term deal. The only issue I have all al with Dez is his back, which is something that's not going to be an issue until it's a huge issue at some point. I'd sign him anyway, but that's why I'd want a pay-as-you-go structure on the deal so the team's not crippled if he has to take an early retirement someday.

If Dez wants to maximize his marketing potential, he should stay in Dallas. Dez might get an offer for more money from another team, but his marketing potential will not be even close to what he has as a Cowboy in my opinion. Oakland, Cleveland, Jacksonville, NY Jets just don't pack the same punch.

Although, the only football player I see on TV pitching products is Peyton Manning. A little of Sherman, but that is about it.

JJ Watt is in commercials, Rodgers' state farm commercials, Fitz, Luck, Brees, and Kaepernick are in Visa commercials. And those are just off the top of my head, many more than the 2 you listed.

True but none of them are part of ROC still takes personality and likeability to draw interest in commercials. I don't care who represents Dez that is his choice I just hope they do him right and are fair in their negotiations.

You think Jeremy Maclin is the 6th best receiver in the league?
