This last tweet is sooooo Jerry and the Cowboys. The entertainment/show is more important than the results.

And people should just accept the reality that even if one was on the board when we had to pick, we are not taking a QB. A lot of people are going to waste a lot of time starting and posting in threads about how we should take Lawrence or Fields.

Jerry bases who is a "cornerstone" player on how much he paid him. Elliott? Cornerstone. Smith? Cornerstone. Gallup? Well, we have to see. LOL.

Hard to believe Jerry could resist the "glitz and glamour" of the jersey sales a new franchise QB would bring.

He's not going to slam his players on a morning radio show. lol You would have heard the same sentiments about Poe the week before he got cut. For a person you all call senile you sure get hung up on his every word.

Ok this is classic Jerry double talk. What he's really saying here is that in this moment we don't need to be talking about drafting another QB. "Dak is our QB" is the truth ........ at this moment in time. Until Jerry has a top 2 pick actually in his pocket, why would he risk being perceived as anti-dak?

People should be smart enough to realize Jerry is not going to denigrate a player, especially halfway through the season.

That said, it will be hilarious to watch the Jaylon stans trot this tweet out as evidence that Jaylon’s ballin’!!!

The problem is Dak is not his QB just yet. Jerry still has to sign him. If Dak will not do a long term deal and has to be franchised again, Jerry has no QB in 2022. I think signing Dak to a long term deal is the right thing to do but it's up to Dak too.

If Dak is not signed by the end of April and the Cowboys are picking in the top 3, the Cowboys will have a tough decision to make.
COWBOYS ZONE needs to put a countdown clock somewhere below the website banner and label it 'Time Remaining Until Dak Contract Signing Deadline'

I just can't see how you bring him back in 2021, especially if you are going to try to churn the defensive roster. Breaking even on the cap isn't ideal but at the very least, it's a break from the past regime and if you want to change the mix on the defense, he's an ideal candidate. You'll lose Crawford too. We will likely churn safety as well (or at least you'd like to hope they would).

But again, this is Jerry and he's stubborn to cut bait on guys he paid. Crawford is the prime example. The exact same situation - coming off a good year, they rushed to sign Crawford (like Smith) thinking the trajectory could make him really expensive in the following year. They got burned because Crawford had already reached his high point but never moved on from him. I guess they will just repeat that with Smith.

Jaylon is one of our cornerstone pieces.

Swallow that down with your morning coffee, boys.

He very wrongfully thinks this loyalty to Dak is going to mean something in negotiations.

Some people just arent capable of learning. Unfortunately he is on that list.
