Jerry, on ESPN, says Ware may not be back next season

I wouldn't be surprised if this is sorted before the draft. They could wait until June 1st before they attempt to reduce his salary, but I'm not sure they wait that long.

And regardless they will need to draft a DE. And will probably try to sign a DE in free agency also... Even if Ware is retained. I like Selvie as a 20 snap a game guy– not a 50 snap per game guy.

Personally I think Ware would be a terrific player getting say 40 snaps a game. He simply can't be relied on to give 1,000 snaps over a season.

Oh I'm sure they'll try to get it reduced before then, but this negotiation will not be a walk in the park. There will be posturing. Free's pay cut didn't happen till mid May last year.

And I could've sworn I read a different quote either earlier today or yesterday where Jerry said something along the lines of it being "unfathomable to line up the defense without D Ware".

No, I can't agree. Really only one decent chance that I can recall. That loss to the Giants is the best chance I think he ever had in Dallas an that was never even an NFC Championship game.

Someone that has looked at the numbers can probably a solid answer.

But there's no way they'll pay him a base salary of $12 mil this year and $13 mil next year... His level of play doesn't come close to that level of compensation.

Nevertheless, the 07 team was the number one seed and lost a game they dominated for the most part. Would they have beat the pats.... Probably not... But you can't say he"never had a shot".
