Jerry, on ESPN, says Ware may not be back next season

No, I can't agree. Really only one decent chance that I can recall. That loss to the Giants is the best chance I think he ever had in Dallas an that was never even an NFC Championship game.

No, I don't really think that was much of a chance at all.

Home Field Advantage is the best chance you can ask for. The team failing to get it done, doesn't make it less of a chance.

Hmmm well I would have been surprised if you agreed Q
Nevertheless, the 07 team was the number one seed and lost a game they dominated for the most part. Would they have beat the pats.... Probably not... But you can't say he"never had a shot".

He's never seen a Conference Championship Game and I think it's very fair to say that it was not because of his own play.

He's never had a chance here in Dallas. Ever.

As much as I like Ware and appreciate what he has done, it's a good buisness move for the future to move on

he was a member of the team so yes he had a part in not having a chance.

I can't wait to hear Mickey Spagnola change his stance on releasing Ware when he was dead set against it when Broaddus brought it up last month. All he kept talking about was the Cap Hit and How that's just another positision you need to fill if you release him.

I think Ware will stay.

If the Cowboys offer him a base salary of say $7 mil... Well he won't get that anywhere else.

I think so as well. I do not believe for one second Jerry cuts him. I think Ware will take a pay cut.

Hope this means they are going to either strike a good deal with Ware or cut him outright. Guy just isn't a full-time player anymore.

he doesn't perform anymore and is banged up. Dallas needs players that play 16 games. Cut dead weight. Even a major paycut is a disaster and tell me Ware will be great in the clubhouse with 2 mil per year. He never was a vocal leader and now he has shown he can't play. Still he will be remembered as a fantastic player.

I saw that too. Made me sick listening to Spag. He is just another puppet on jerrys string.

Well there is no guarantee, but thats not saying he wont be. It will be difficult because the only way i saw Ware in Dallas is if he takes a big paycut. And i dont know if Jerry would disrespect him by giving him a lowball deal

Personally I think Ware would be a terrific player getting say 40 snaps a game. He simply can't be relied on to give 1,000 snaps over a season.

I've been saying this for 2 years. Limit snaps using him primarily in passing situations. Keeps him fresh and available when needed most. Oh well - looks like his time in Dallas may be done.

Beginning to like the idea of trading down in the first and getting more picks for this draft. Don't think we'll have a high value DL pick at 16, the linebackers and safeties are mediocre there as well, and we can get a WR later in the draft. One caveat is if Martin is there for the OL.

you amuse me with your lack of football knowledge

One word "posturing".

At this juncture if they were planning on squeezing Ware's salary for next season they certainly couldn't go around saying, "Oh we anticipate Demarcus finishing his career as a Dallas Cowboy."

Uh no.

To get the guy to come down $5 mil or more on next year's salary he's going to need to feel like yes the Cowboys will cut him.

Personally I think Ware's a pretty bright guy. He has to know that A. He isn't worth a base salary of $12 mil next season. B. The Cowboys need to reduce his cap hit.

This is the best answer although not the only one.

I think you may be a bit too harsh on the guy- he looked terrific at the beginning of last season, but I get where you're coming from.
BUT- 2 mill a year? C'mon. Ain't happening, my brotha from anotha mutha.
