Really, you guys don't understand Jerry speak after all these years. This year is a gap year and next year will be a rebuilding year. After that, back to
square 1.

Oy. Dak better get used to running.

lol @ narcissist deflection logic.

The "smartest and logical" thing would be evaluating your roster and every other team's roster for the best available plug-in for Smith. This is GM 101. Deflecting will not make most readers or listeners misunderstand what his actual responsibilities are in this circumstance.

He is 100 percent right is he?

2 need to show they're worth their contracts? I assume one would be Zeke and one would be Dak correct?

How would you like them to perform after losing a HOF tackle and his backup is Josh Ball.

Jerry is playing with fire. Because if Dak and Zeke go down. Those enormous contracts you mentioned will be paid to players on the IR

I completely understand your points. I wonder if (and I by NO MEANS am a Jerry apologist) he realizes FINALLY that he overpaid for BOTH and that, especially in Dak's case, that some elite QB's have excelled even without premium linemen...

It’s not Tyler smith and it’s not a guy from the outside.

theres only two options and 1 of them is awful

ball or Martin

And I’d love to know how they ‘pick up the slack’ for not having a left tackle?

Someone remind me again how they ‘picked up the slack’ for Chaz Green?

I could be very wrong here but if I didn't know better, I would think this is directed at Dak. He controls the offense/ball......lots of things he can do to help his OLine.

I think all this means is we drafted Tyler Smith to be the future LT so perhaps that's where the line of thinking is going. He won't play today, but that move seems like a real possibility.

Personally for the preseason game tonight I would play Ball at RT all game see if it goes better there. Then rotate series with Alcron and Waletzko getting work at LT. If they struggle, it would be even more foolish to not bring in a veteran. The good news is there will be a lot of people available soon. Teams may also be willing to trade a veteran who is getting beat out or on par with a younger player that carries a lower cap hit. If teams can squeeze out a late round pick for a player they may not keep then that's a win for all parties.

yeah sure. Diggs , Parsons, and Lamb are going to get top dollar. I’ll bet you whatever you want on that

That’s part of the reason he moved on from some of those players preparing to pay those guys. CeeDee could be the odd man out depending on how he performs as a lead receiver this season. WR salaries are skyrocketing like QB salaries. KC had to trade Tyreek Hill and Green Bay moved on from Davante Adams because of money. This is a big season for CeeDee.

What part of "we like our guys" do you all not understand?

This season was a lost cause with a healthy Smith because we just don't have a very good roster.

I must say, I'm not shocked to see some of the more vocal members of this forum throwing in the towel at the first sign of adversity though. Talked their crap all offseason and then quit as soon as an injury happens.

I think they still had an overall good offense. It was obviously a step back from last year and the OLine still needed work but if the defense were on that level then it could be a good year. Sadly the defense just has too many holes and if you have scrubs playing on defense they are going to be targeted every time and it is why the Cowboys struggle. You do not need pro bowl players at every position but you need players who are not a drag. Regardless now they probably will struggle to keep up in the worst or 2nd worst division in football.

get off the cliff. Im not sure there was much that could have been done here. Yes tyron is an injury waiting to happen but no one could have imagine it would be this bad. Im not a jerry apologist in fact I cant stand him but I think he was planning on Tyrons demise he just didnt think it was this soon.

We havent played a game yet Ill worry when i see how these guys respond.then ill expect him and steven to do something. Outside of drafting different people than we have the same fixes are still out there

Season isn't remotely close to over.

This roster is still very good...our defense will destroy a lot of teams.

Ok so they’re still going to pay their guys and not pay other guys. So nothing has changed. That’s the point

Our defense has a lot of unknowns, I'm not sure they'll destroy a lot of teams
