Kaep is intelligent and he's a hard worker. He is strong in his beliefs, which I don't happen to agree with, but I also don't think it diminishes who he is, either. I'm not sure the team is interested but I think he'd be a great fit on the field as a backup. He wasn't half bad last season playing with a minor league roster.

Oh and you think that he is a better choice than Tony Romo? Really? He was awful last year.
He wasn't any worse than Romo last year who wasn't even allowed to play until garbage time in the last game of the regular season.

Kaep has too much political baggage for a team to deal with................that is why every team is avoiding him like he has ebola.

I just hope this Romo story comes to an end soon and the Club can look to the future.
Just asking.....but you don't think the Dallas Cowboys are looking to the future just because Tony Romo is on the roster?

If Jerry releases Romo by training camp then he'll probably retire and go into broadcasting. Maybe that's Jerry's plan, is to wait so long to release Romo that he decides to retire. Neither Jerry or anyone else in the organization wants to see Romo play for another team. If he retires he can't come back to haunt us on the field and there won't be any second guessing about moving on from him.

For Romo to have success on the field in 2017 he needs to be apart of his new team by OTA's so he can start learning a new offense and get familiar with his new teammates. He's played very little football the past 2 years so he needs to start working on his game and a new offense well before training camp. With him back to playing golf it appears he's seriously thinking about retirement.

Which is why Houston is likely to trade for him soon.

If they don't trade for him on draft day they and no one else will be trading for him. Draft day is our last chance to trade him. The Texans giving away a second round pick just to have Cleveland take Osweiler off their hands greatly reduces the chances of them trading for Romo.

They can trade him at anytime, but it is more likely to happen before or during the draft. They can also keep him for another year. Jerry holds the cards and Houston and Denver or gambling with screwing up their season.

They're not keeping him another year, Romo will have none of that. He's not about to throw away another season backing up Dak. He either gets an opportunity to start for a good team in 2017 or he's retiring from football. With broadcasting opportunities Romo has options which gives him some leverage.

And exactly how does that baggage negatively impact the team? It's more like the vast majority of NFL owners are far right of the spectrum and intolerant of views that are not their own.

My money wouldn't be on him retiring but he did give up golf a few years ago because of his back. Playing football he didn't want to take any chances with his back. With him back playing golf, retirement has to be in the back of his mind. The longer his situation remains in limbo the more likely he'll retire.
