we aint beating the Bucs OR Philly. Anything else is crazy talk. Both teams have running backs galore that get chunk yards every week. Both teams are balanced. We are decimated.

Bucs are very impressive. Very strong across the board. Too bad from them Godwin got injured but still strong offense.

At this point I don’t think anyone decent will come to Dallas and have to deal with the losers in the FO
The luster on the star ain’t what it used to be.

I have come to believe that Jerry will offer Big Mac a new deal which is insane after all the delays and indecisions and undermining, not to mention hanging him out to dry this season. Now whether McCarthy agrees to continue to be here again is another story.

If I was Mike McCarthy I would take great joy in turning Jerry’s offer down. Mac is not a great HC but he’s at least a good one. He may have an interest in New Orleans because he still has connections there. Or he may also not want to coach anymore.

How do you get worse than not making a conference title game for 28 years and counting? This level of futility is unprecedented in NFL history b/c no owner would allow a GM to fail for this long.
I mean by getting worse is remaining a losing record team year after year.

I understand the frustration. We all feel it. And it does have some historical futility significance . I’ve been a huge critic as well.

But amazingly the buffoon as owner and GM has been able most years to remain relevant. Thus far this relevance has been able to prevent more criticism and ultimately financial fallout which is only realistic means of bringing about the change we all know is necessary to return to our more historied success.

But we must also acknowledge that our glorious history is not a given . And nowhere does it say it’s required to be a championship caliber franchise. That’s something fans have just come to expect with more regularity because of our history. And associate with our brand.

We could always be the Jets for example who have longest stretch currently in NFL of not making the playoffs and almost 50 years since last SB appearance . Yes , they had a conf champ appearance since us in late 90’s but I think overall we could argue not as much relativity.

In all fairness this reference to championship appearances since 1996 is basically a talking point since we had so many prior to this. And most of the league had made one since. Much like talking points our QB’s this era didn’t have any or enough success cause they didn’t go deeper in playoffs.

It’s time for Cowboy fans to accept we are no longer a championship caliber franchise. Those expectations need to be adjusted. I guess 30 years hasn’t been long enough. Maybe 50 years will be after this generation of fans have died off and there is no longer Cowboy fans who lived when we were successful.

I think there’s a good possibility he could receive another elsewhere. And he might want to test the waters before resigning here assuming he gets an offer which I expect him too even if it’s only a 1 or 2 year extension.

I get the arguments on both sides and a strong argument can be made. But unfortunately options are limited with our dysfunctional ownership. And despite all of the obvious defects and weaknesses of this HC the team hasn’t quit on him yet.

There is something to be said for that. And we could argue the culture here has been improved from when he took over.

The question or measurement for management and coaching is are we in a better place since they took over . I think there’s an argument to be made we are even after a dismal season this year.

All we have to do is go back to the previous tenure before MM to compare apples to apples. Who would you rather have. Garrett or McCarthy?

I’d be more concerned if McCarthy bolts. What then? We at least know what we have now. Just saying. It could always be worse.

If the GB loss in the playoffs didn't do it, nothing will!

I hope they get the the s__t beat out of em. I'm not even waisting my time watching the games. It ridiculous the way these people, the Joneses say they are going to do this and do that and then end up doing something else. Been a fan of this team for 55 years so and I'm not gonna let these clowns ruin it for me.

Washington is also likely in a win and in situation. They are going to be fired up

I hope McCarthy returns. You can absolutely make a valid counter argument, but you can’t deny he’s been the most successful coach here since Jimmy and Jerry dealt him a terrible hand this year. The team hasn’t given up on him yet. He’s also the best of all available options, imo.

Jerry is treating Big Mac exactly as he treated Lamb and Prescott. Both should have been resigned months earlier, and based on the contracts he was willing to give them, it could have easily been done months earlier and the Cap savings used on WR, RB, defense instead of this stupid talk and practice of rolling it into the next year. The Lamb and Prescott deals were not a result of hard negotiations, which is why neither player ever seemed worried or upset. Dak even stated long before the contract was signed that he was confident it would be done, in time. Jerry drags his feet, maybe for the attention, who knows, but then we are behind the rest of the league.

Yes, we have some good players, but this 2024 roster was seriously flawed long before the injuries and long before Dowdle started actually making moves and breaking tackles. We still see Lamb and Rush not being on the same page from time to time just as we saw with Dak early on; he should have been signed and in camp. But this team will never do anything until Jerry realizes he needs a stout, physical defense and bonafide #2 and #3 wideouts.

Fans need to come to grips there’s no real hope until Jethro is gone .

I thank Couch Coach RIP for helping me to finally come to grips with our reality.

Once you accept what we have become you then can adjust your expectations. And just root for us to win each individual game with no objectives beyond that.

Which is really all we have left with no realistic goals beyond the regular season. 17 meaningful games is about all we can hope for under our dysfunctional leadership.

Unfortunately this is what our owner has reduced our once pride franchise too. And as long as fans aren’t willing to bring about severe financial casualty to the brand our owner isn’t going to make the changes needed or sell the team.

Serious question: Other than Jason Garrett, has there ever been a former Cowboys player or assistant coach, after seeing how Jerry treats his coaches, decided to come back here as HC?

I can’t think of one. It’s one reason why I seriously doubt the Kellen Moore as the next HC talk will happen.

Speaking of the Jets, they really went for it the last two seasons, and have some very nice players on that roster…but what’s missing? Higher end coaching.

Reminds me of another organization.

Id argue it's Parcells. He got us one game away from the chip game. Guess it depends how we measure success.

How are you doing, cowboy brother, have a great holiday, I was in a really bad mood. The other day we were discussing Jimmy and Jerry, I had just got a tetanus shot and a flu shot. And I was miserable. No grudges hold.
