Jerry sees McCarthy and Zimmer as a package deal

The Chiefs stuck with Reid and it paid off. I wouldn't mind keeping Mccarthy so long as we bring in a new offensive coordinator. The team hasn't quit, our defense is looking better which everyone says Zimmer's D is complicated so was always going to take time and the offensive line has many rookies and they take at least a year of development time. I just think our offense needs a little more innovation. We lost so many players this year to injury. I really thought we would have a top 5 pick. We have done better than I expected and I never expected a very good year this year.

When is someone going to ask that if the team as is isn’t good enough, and they have no cap room to improve, where is this all going?

Or are they not allowed?

This.

Yeah. Tampa and Philly will either bring them back to earth or justify those feelings. I lean toward bring them back to earth, although I don't think the Joneses are always on the same planet as the rest of us, so who knows what they'll do.
I think we will beat TB.

I will be surprised, but anything can happen in this league. I expect Tampa to not be as bad as the Philly game, but for our offense to struggle quite a bit.

Maybe I’m in the minority but I don’t mind bringing them both back. I think both the Mike’s are good coaches whose players seem to play hard for. I do think Mike needs an OC, but I don’t know how much of a difference it makes when your top QB struggles with his post snap read, and his backup lacks the arm talent for long term success. The team will have to do something to bring in FA to help fill the roster and actively try to improve out without touching that ridiculous contract of QB1. I think if you can pull some leverage on 88’s contract you do it.

That is because Jerry Dumbo GM Jones wants a Head Coach of Offense and a Head Coach for defense. So Jerry can be the Head Coach of Everything Jonesboys.

You will never see a Landry, Johnson, or Parcells style again as Cowboys HC. This is the Jonesboys that Owner, GM, and defacto Head Coach just wants to be relevant vs. going to NFC Championship games and winning Super Bowls.

Relevant means talking the talk and not walking the walk. Jerry Dumbo GM Jones called Jimmy Johnson a "Walk Around" Coach. Jimmy walked around the defense made it no.1. Walked around the offense hire Norv Turner and made it no.1. Walked around the GM office and made more trades than the NFL combined. Walk around Plan B free agency stocking core players and a Pro Bowl TE, and walked around the draft room drafting numerous starters, Pro Bowl, and Hall of Fame players.

Don't drink the Kool Aid. You will not beat good teams without leadership, power, and authority starting at the Head Coach position.

If you want to know what will happen next season, ask who is in charge of the football team. If you cannot say one name that is not Jerry Jones or one of his offspring, it will be another year of being relevant and not getting to and winning a Super Bowl. I have +28 years of proof in my words.

The problem isn’t Mike. It’s that Jerry can’t build a complete squad. The last five years the cowboys haven’t been the better team. Philly, 49ers, Chiefs, Rams, Lions have all had better squads.
Those teams are night and day better and actually take advantage of the offseason to improve the roster while this one sits on their hands and bargain shops 3 months into free agency. People want to blame the coach but the front office continuously drops the ball year in and year out.

Y'all are not getting it.

Yes, some in recent years has been bad decisions by McCarthy, poorly designed plays and badly timed playcalling, but what has hurt this team most has been the lack of a dominating line on both sides of the ball (which we are now starting to see late this season on Offense now that our younger talented Olinemen are being allowed to play and gain gametime experience), plus the lack of a few other weapons on offense (WR2 & RB2) and defense (DT, DE, LB).

I can see why Jerry is hesitant to start fully over but instead keep McCarthy and Zimmer for another year or two as long as he helps them with what is needed to improve this team.

I’m sorry; I don’t believe any coach could have gotten much more out of this sorry team in 2024.
Now, if you want to bring up failure in the playoffs the past three 12 win seasons, that is certainly fair, but Jerry did not fire him for those, so I’m not sure why he’d fire him now. The final record doesn’t matter to me. The team never quit on him despite a poor roster with lots of holes thanks to Jerry. I can’t imagine a coach getting more out of Cooper Rush than Mike did. Frankly, none of them even wanted him as a backup.

Hire new coaches or bring back Mike and Zimmer. Bottom line….if Jerry doesn’t get off his butt and spend the cap and get involved in free agency and produce a complete roster, it won’t matter who coaches, but if he works on both the offense and the defense to create a balance that has been missing for decades, then I think Mike and Zimmer can get it done.

I hope we get blown out by 50+ the remaining games. Jerry already started selling the idea of bringing McCarthy and Zimmer back on a contract extension smh.

Huh, Belichick takes another job and Jerry starts singing praises of McCarthy and Zimmer. Coincidence?
