Maybe you should tutor the Jones family on how to make deals.

Perhaps, if they show me the money.

My family has owned a business longer than the Jones', well over a century. Family and business is always bad. They made Romo family, now we see the bad side of that decision. Even Stephen couldn't talk about it. They didn't know how to trade Romo, they just cared more about him than the business.

We care about the Cowboys, but we shouldn't ever ignore the truth of what really happened.

it is what it is, I hope he fails drastically wherever he goes. he is no longer a cowboy and dead to me....
He will likely set records and become a media darling. And known as at his best in the biggest moments.
Despite playing worse than he did for the Cowboys.

Jerry really did a poor job not securing a trade. Romo should have played the last game in full. We would have had momentum going into the playoffs and stirred some trade talk. Releasing Romo for nothing equals epic fail
Maybe ole Jer isn't the smooth talking wheeler dealer we're led to believe he is....he actually sux at trades, if he can trade at all rather than just release a player he usually comes out out the short end.

Here's another myth: The Cowboys had to do something with Romo before free agency began. There was no rush. They should've held on to him until after the draft.

Let me know the next time Jerry successfully negotiates a player trade where we receive draft picks.

For all the talk of how great a salesman he is, it seems to only work when he's the one paying out.

Yeah, on a smaller scale it is like when he caved to Brandon Weeden. You have to ask yourself what would have Jimmy J. done, then also think why we haven't had success since he left.

It is not free until June first. Guys like Romo are the entire reason for the ability to designate someone as a June first cut. If you hold him until June, his market dries up.
Or desperate situations develop and you get enhanced value a la Bradford. Jerry is an idiot.

I hope he finds success. I don't think he'll win a Super Bowl. Underrated and maligned. Good luck to him.

Likely not a difference maker at this point but he we really had a plan for trading Tony we should've showcased him more in the final game against Philly last season instead of tip toeing around in that last game. Tony should've played the whole time to show teams he was fully healthy and could take a hit, etc.

With no substantive post injury playing time for him we limited our trade options dramatically. We only have ourselves to blame for that.

All the best to him. I will root for him to do well next season.

The only problem with the Eagles game was a gutless coach and Tony might have been reinjured.

Uhhh no offense but some of us knew he was gonna end up being released. I mean who really believed we were gonna get anything worth anything? That IS the truth, just those that say otherwise don't want to admit it

Yeah. That was my take also. Either way the results are the same. We did nothing to try and create a market for the guy thinking there'd be suitors regardless. Hard to make the argument that a dude is fully recovered from an injury if nobody has seen him play extensively and demonstrate he can withstand punishment. And yes - not doing that was gutless.

Oh I am sure they have a reason. I am just saying there is no reason to have to do it now.
I don't see the reason myself but I also don't know who they plan to try and sign or extend
Just saying there may very well be a reason

This isn't far from the truth. Name the last trade Jones won? He probably overpaid to move up to get Claiborne is you look at other similar trades. Same with Lawrence when he made the move then and similar moves in the draft cost less.

Guy is a sharp businessman but he might just be a terrible football negotiator.
