But that's never the case. He's never been relegated to just short yardage and goal line.
And you may be right. Him making closer to $2m a year gives me hope that they won’t feel the need to feed him but who know.

Jerry's addled brain thinks we still have this guy. That Zeke is long gone...ain't coming back.

Rookie highlights - such a different player back then.

There is why we continue falter. Keeping players past their prime. Cut the cord Jerry.
Every time I think Jerry has said and done the stupidest and most moronic thing he can possibly say/do, he tops it and prices me wrong
This thread and Boogers "I can't quit you" practices have me REAL CLOSE to posting something that will get me benched....so, I'll see ya tomorrow....this has me very worked up!!! With each passing day, I realize that I'm gonna have to outlive Chuckles (I am a year older) to have an outside shot of ever seeing another Cowboys Super Bowl.

Zeke is a drag on all of a) salary cap, b) roster space, and c) the offense
If you love him so much Jerry just move him into your house and give him a title as a staffer but not as a player. He done.

it wouldn’t shock me. Zeke may be willing to take a big enough salary reduction that it’s actually more financially beneficial for the cowboys than cutting him.

I can’t see him getting more than a league minimum offer anywhere else.
Jerry wanted to keep Randy Gregory.

Stephen did not want to keep Randy Gregory.

Randy Gregory went to Denver...

Yeah but they still made a legitimate offer to Gregory. I don’t see any other team in the league making more than a vet min contract offer to zeke.

That feels apples to oranges to me. I’m hoping they do move on, but it also seems beneficial to both sides to come to an agreement.

What are we worried about? The cap or the on field product?

If they dont cut Zeke he will keep getting 10-15 touches a game. We can not afford to continue wasting those downs on a shot player.

That's what I wanted to know also, if we keep him how many carries will he get

That smell you smell is us getting closer to the steaming pile reason Kellen is gone and McCarthy has a future. I contend that Zeke is central to that reason and McCarthy would rather keep his job at 2 yards per carry, then fess up and tell the truth about Zeke.

Kellen probably wasn’t in the self-preservation mode like big Mike.

Zeke is Jerry’s Emmitt and the Joneses fathom a different way to get to the bowl other than having Triplets.

Maybe this is the Jones boys attempt to mask what they’re really doing…for a change. Usually they tell the whole world who they’re going to cut (like Coop last yr) then can’t understand why they could only get a 5th rounder for him.
Did they learn from that last year?

Why is this rich drunk talking about " making it work financially" ? Those words should NEVER come out of a "football" guys mouth. Its not about money Jerry. Zeke is no longer a great football player. And you're paying him like he's the best RB in football. The RB position needs to be upgraded, so STOP talking about money and go get a better player you drunk idiot.

We're Emmitt and Dorsett first round picks? Hmmm lol.
Hmmmm YOUR RIGHT!!!

and since the game is the exact same as 3 and 4 decades ago, we should do the same. That would be awesome (or "bytchen, as they said back when Emmit was drafted)

Better yet, let's draft a FullBack in Rd1. That was considered "groovey" in the 50's.

LOL LOL
