They didn't overpay. I hate when fans say this because they worry about jerrys money too much. They paid the going price for players. Now did they overpay for Elliot, yes. Was it over priced at the time yes, but thats the price you pay for a rb that your never had to take off the field.

They couldnt keep him on either.....only when pollard got hurt....and not even that much at all....for 90 mil? no thanks

Of course Jerry does. He gets attached to players which is one of the primary reasons he is such a poor GM. Zeke his "his guy" and he spent a lot of draft and cap capitol on him. In Jerry's warped mind, Zeke is his shiny toy.

Clueless, why is Elliot not what he was? Because he carried the team his first few years the nfl. He was the best rb I the nfl when he signed that deal. What you guys do is think he signed that deal last yr.

He signed his contract after 2018, the yr he ran for 1434 yrds rec 567 yrds and 9tds. 2000yrds 9 tds 4.7 yrds per carry. Did you know he out produced Emmitt in his first 4yrs?

Clueless

Did you know that Dallas signed him2 yrs early? And did you know that since he's been in the nfl he's had 2 yrs where his caphits have been extreme, that's 2020 and 2022

He earned everything he's made.

Yep. And a huge catalyst in winning those 90’s SB’s was the Herschel trade. That wouldn’t have happened though if he had been acquired during Jerry’s tenure.

Of course back then Jimmy made most personnel decisions with Jerry just signing off on them to make it look like he was was in charge. But it was easy for him then because he had no attachment to the players or staff he inherited.

Very clueless. Am I saying Elliot is better? All I said was he out produced emmitt in his first 4 yrs. What I'm trying to do is give you a little context into my view of Elliot and why he isn't what he used to be. They ran him into the ground. He was still the best RB in the NFL when he signed.

And yes very clueless or you just refuse to see anything about this that's not negative.

Should Elliot be cut, yes. Should he take a huge pay cut, yes.

But the fact that this team is publicly saying it might rather just let him walk than disrespect him with a low offer speaks highly of the team. And yes Jerry gets attached to players, that's a bad thing? Should he be a lying dbag like most owners?

Anyways nice debate. But I've been getting tired of seeing fans like you claim to be these big cowboy fans but seem to hate everything bout them. So ignore you go now. I just want to limit the misery alot of you are feeling. I come here to enjoy talking about the team I love. And you guys ruin every thread with your pessimism. About everything, everyday, in every thread. So enjoy the team. Bye

Jerry would like to keep Zeke because he knows he’s going to have to replace him and it may be hard to find a replacement that’s better. He would have to use a draft pick to do it. Zeke is a good blocker and can still push the pile in short yardage and he did score 12 TDs. If we can’t adequately find someone to replace his production, then Pollard will have to carry more of the load which could possibly reduce his effectiveness. Keeping him fresh has played a part in his success.

What do you mean?
Ur saying Jerry is pocketing half the cap. I'm asking when hasthere been a yr the team has had alot of unspent cap?

If next yr they still have 40-50 in caproom I'll agree with you. And they have over 120mil in space next yr

You cant make it up. And they'll probably hurry Pollard along in the name of a fast healer and supposedly ready just like they did Gallup. And the end result being a compromised, lesser version of Pollard BUT either franchise tagged or over paid contract to another injured guy brought back too fast.

And the hits just keep on coming.

Heck, let's re-sign a washed up Zeke in the name of continued jersey sales while we're at it, whadyasay?

LOL
I doubt anyone is buying Zeke jerseys these days.

Again, do you know how television contracts and the salary cap works? Clearly not.

Maybe you should spend a little less time trying to justify everything the Cowboys do and a little more time educating yourself.
