Felix looked very good before going on IR because he got hurt does not make that a bad pick, Choice came in and did a very good job and Scandric was looking very good down the strech and as you said Bennett. So yes base on 1 season yes this looks to be a very good draft that should only improve. I know you will do all in your power not to give Jerry any credit for anything but this has looked like a very good draft by the Cowboys

TO's contract isnt the real problem, at least he performs on the field.

Being stuck with guys like Flozell and Hamlin is the bigger issue.

Unless you are happy with the coaching staff. Cower already said he owens needs to go. I assume that means if asked he wouldn't interview for the job.

When a good coach says that, others will follow suit.
Jones just said he CAN"T get rid of owens. So yeah his contract is a problem.

I know Felix looked good and no I don't blame him for getting hurt. But you can't judge the draft after one year. I'm very hopeful all our draft picks are doing great in seasons two and three. J Jones looked good his first season also.

That is why I said for their rookie year but unlike J. Jones I think Felix is more explosive than ju jones and is bigger than Ju Jones and seems to run off his blocks better than Ju. Jones who while he did have a very good rookie year most of those runs came off the draw that has not been the case with Felix. I do agree you can’t fully judge a draft good or bad off of 1 year but we did get a lot of contributions from this rookie class

Not the mess I'm talking about. The mess we have in the locker room and in the coaching staff. All avoidable.

Yes, bringing in talent and bringing in "brilliant" coaches is the worst reason for him to stay. Just because a decision doesn't work out how you think it should doesn't mean it was a bad decision at the time. Hindsight is 20-20.

The only problem is that the Defense quit at the end of the Ravens game and definately were no shows against the Eagles.

When the defense is on the field the whole game when your offense consistently puts up three-and-outs things like that happen. The play-call was correct.How many times did you see Emmitt break off long runs in the fourth quarter, after the Cowboys offense just consumed the TOP throughout the game, despite teams knowing it was coming?

Ware is a little bit more than simply a shiny toy on defense. Anyone that draws a triple team in blocking is someone that I'd like rushing the passer.

The whole point of starting this thread was to point out that Jerry said the big names on the team are here to stay and that the coaches are here to stay.

With those two big issues apparently decided, what is left that can be done? If you have essentially the same group in place next year with a little churn at the bottom of the roster, what needs to change?

How do you stop the infighting and bickering? How do you not make the same type of signing mistakes of free agents to be unless they are studs like Ware? Do you look to other franchises for a formula even if you don't admit it?

on the Ticket. Basically said that the big contracts and bonuses on the books will keep him from cutting any big contracts.

He specifically used TO as an example and said, "if I cut him, the bonus accelerates onto the cap and then I don't have room to sign Ware."

Basically sounded like he was holding Ware over the fans heads and saying that, if I cut guys because you fans think there are chemistry issues, you don't get your shiny toy on defense.

He also said that the coaches will not be replaced and that there will be about 30% turnover on the roster (just not any of the big contracts or big signing bonus guys).

As for the "team chemistry" part, I think that's a bunch of baloney. Teams are together because they're winning and are divided because they're losing. It's not the reverse.
