Was it a very good draft? Felix on IR, Skandric no big deal, maybe good maybe not. Bennett I love. Who am I missing?

Really? Felix looked very good before going on IR because he got hurt does not make that a bad pick, Choice came in and did a very good job and Scandric was looking very good down the strech and as you said Bennett. So yes base on 1 season yes this looks to be a very good draft that should only improve. I know you will do all in your power not to give Jerry any credit for anything but this has looked like a very good draft by the Cowboys

TO's contract isnt the real problem, at least he performs on the field.

Being stuck with guys like Flozell and Hamlin is the bigger issue.

Unless you are happy with the coaching staff. Cower already said he owens needs to go. I assume that means if asked he wouldn't interview for the job.

When a good coach says that, others will follow suit.
Jones just said he CAN"T get rid of owens. So yeah his contract is a problem.

It was a outstanding draft. Jenkins played very well also...

I know Felix looked good and no I don't blame him for getting hurt. But you can't judge the draft after one year. I'm very hopeful all our draft picks are doing great in seasons two and three. J Jones looked good his first season also.

That is why I said for their rookie year but unlike J. Jones I think Felix is more explosive than ju jones and is bigger than Ju Jones and seems to run off his blocks better than Ju. Jones who while he did have a very good rookie year most of those runs came off the draw that has not been the case with Felix. I do agree you can’t fully judge a draft good or bad off of 1 year but we did get a lot of contributions from this rookie class

I agree. Jenkins seems to be coming around but got off to a slower start than Scandric but I like Jenkins upside over the long haul

Yes we did. And I'm as hope full as any one that they all continue down that road. That doesn't excuse the rest of the mess our GM has created. All of it avoidable.

Which mess is that? As I said I don't agree with every move Jerry has made but tell me how do you feel about Carpenter which was BP guy? I like BP but I also know that not every deal works out as planned such as Eddie George was that a good move?

Not the mess I'm talking about. The mess we have in the locker room and in the coaching staff. All avoidable.

Maybe Campo needs to take everyone to Sea World. Maybe that would pull everyone together.

So which was better, Camp Polyanna or Camp Cupcake? Coach Poodle or Coach Marshmallow? :D

Yes, bringing in talent and bringing in "brilliant" coaches is the worst reason for him to stay. Just because a decision doesn't work out how you think it should doesn't mean it was a bad decision at the time. Hindsight is 20-20.

you act like that's all Jerry does

Sorry to change subjects, but this was a pretty good interview....Norm asks questions through the eyes of a fan...kind of nice for a change.

The only problem is that the Defense quit at the end of the Ravens game and definately were no shows against the Eagles.

When the defense is on the field the whole game when your offense consistently puts up three-and-outs things like that happen. The play-call was correct. How many times did you see Emmitt break off long runs in the fourth quarter, after the Cowboys offense just consumed the TOP throughout the game, despite teams knowing it was coming?

Ware is a little bit more than simply a shiny toy on defense. Anyone that draws a triple team in blocking is someone that I'd like rushing the passer.
I know. I was just making a point of how it sounded when I heard it.

The whole point of starting this thread was to point out that Jerry said the big names on the team are here to stay and that the coaches are here to stay.

With those two big issues apparently decided, what is left that can be done? If you have essentially the same group in place next year with a little churn at the bottom of the roster, what needs to change?

How do you stop the infighting and bickering? How do you not make the same type of signing mistakes of free agents to be unless they are studs like Ware? Do you look to other franchises for a formula even if you don't admit it?

With no changes this team will absolutely finish dead last in the NFC East. No doubt about that. :

Apparently, you didn't see much of the Commanders this year.

on the Ticket. Basically said that the big contracts and bonuses on the books will keep him from cutting any big contracts.

He specifically used TO as an example and said, "if I cut him, the bonus accelerates onto the cap and then I don't have room to sign Ware."

Basically sounded like he was holding Ware over the fans heads and saying that, if I cut guys because you fans think there are chemistry issues, you don't get your shiny toy on defense.

He also said that the coaches will not be replaced and that there will be about 30% turnover on the roster (just not any of the big contracts or big signing bonus guys).

WHY who signed these men to these contracts???? WHO is the GM????

oh...damn:bang2:

We have no hope for 2009. I guess I'll take the year off from torturing myself watching these losers. We can't make any roster changes or coaching changes to a team that just got smoked in their last two games.

Is it me or does 2009 seem like we are headed for a diseaster? This really sucks!!!

Maybe when we start off 0-4 Jerry might do something

As for the "team chemistry" part, I think that's a bunch of baloney. Teams are together because they're winning and are divided because they're losing. It's not the reverse.

This should be framed.

It's so dead-on it's not even funny.
