Just wait till we hit the championship game next year and the majority of people here will flip flop like the Dak poles after every game and think he's the next coming of Aikman

Then insert the mouth breathers that think since (x) quarterback made it further into the playoffs then (x) quarterback he's automatically makes him better lolz

Forum will explode
Post less, seriously

This is my WORST NIGHTMARE. I would rather he starve the team and let it bleed out a natural death. But pumping money into this money pit...is delaying the inevitable. And it makes the recovery that much harder - cap hell.
Yup. A year ago this would have been great. Now they have a lame duck coach, a QB no one believes can win a big game and a DC who has lost his status as a great coach after that flop.

Only Jerry could make going all in a bad thing.

I'd like someone to explain to me why Dallas draft players to train them to play what they didn't play i college???? They always try to seem like the sharpest pencil in the box. You need a MLB!!! Draft a true middle linebacker. Someone that has played it for years. Center ,DT etc..........man these clueless......

Great!

Henry, Luvu, Stefon Diggs, center from Broncos, Chandler Jones

Sounds like a good off season pre draft haul
We'll see what he means by it. I will be very, very surprised if we actually go fill our holes with quality players instead of bargain-bin ones. All in to me is pretty much the same as what you've got (top back, top linebacker, top 3-tech, top center, top receiver). That can be achieved by cutting some dead weight and reworking some contracts.

I think they are focused on a specific player in FA and all in may be directed at signing there own big contract FA

In of itself it’s confusing….for the cowboys to go all in this offseason, it basically starts with a dak extension. That’s the easiest route to begin carving cap space beyond restructures which will also be done.

Teams are able to do this most years and still get players in the draft for the future. Sounds like we might be going harder in FA.

The key phrase here is “looking ahead at the key contracts we’d like to address - we will be all in”…..unfortunately don’t think he means free agency at all but would love being wrong

Making cap space

Guys to cut:
Gallup - June 1st cut - $9.5m saved
Cooks - saves $4m - decent player but if you aren't going to use him on deep routes it's kind of pointless having him
Vander Esch - $2.1m - too many injuries, not trustworthy
Rush - $2.25m - might as well go with Lance as backup
Wright - $1.2m

Restructure or Extension:
Zach - $12.6m or $13.4m
Tank - $4.4m or $7m
Diggs -$7.9m
Steele - $4.9m
Wilson - $2.9m
Lamb extension - $13.4m
Lance extension - $3.4m

Dak - $21.9m or $26.2m

So,
$9.55m in regular cuts
$9.5m in June first cuts

$71.4m with only restructures or $79.1m with biggest additions between restructures and extensions.

We can make 90+m just from the above. The June 1st cut of Gallup covers the cost of the rookie pool and then some extra so more than $80 million to play with. You COULD go all in if you wanted.

Free agents
-Pollard, Gilmore, T. Smith, Armstrong, Kearse, Lewis, Fowler, Igbinoghene, Gallimore, Hankins, Goodwin, Sieg, Edoga, Dowdle, McKeon, Biadasz

Only resigns and would not break the bank for T. Smith, Lewis, Armstrong, Hankins, Sieg. Maybe Dowdle. Biadasz will want too much money for average performance at best.

Offense under contract
QB - Dak, Lance
RB - Davis, Luepke, Vaughn, Conner
TE - Ferguson, Schoonmaker, Hendershot, Fant, Stephens, Jr
WR - Lamb, Tolbert, Turpin, Bryant, Brooks, Durden, Cropper, McMath
OT - Steele, Waletzko, Richards, Bostic, Jr, Shepley
OG - Martin, T. Smith, Bass, Ball
C - Hoffman
PK - Aubrey
LS -

DE - Parsons, Tank, Williams, Fehoko, Gholston, Wheat, Johnson
DT - Odiggy, Smith
LB - Clark, Overshown, Johnson
CB - Bland, Diggs, Redwine, Scott, Butler
S - Hooker, Wilson, Bell, Mukuamu, Thomas
P - Anger

Biggest needs and likely available FA
RB - Henry, Barkley, Jacobs, Ekeler, Cook, Moss
OT - D. Brown, T. Brown, T. Smith, Williams
C - James, Cushenberry
WR - Mike Evans, M. Brown, T. Boyd, C. Samuel, D. Mooney, Pittman, Ridley, G. Davis

DT - Hankins, C. Jones, L. Williams, Rankins, Wilkins, Madubuike, Reader, Stewart, Tart
LB - D. White, Wagner, Jewell, Luvu, Queen, Brooks, Al -Shaiir
CB - Lewis, Fuller, Davis, J. Johnson, Sneed, Moore

Trade possibilities - Stephon Diggs, AJ Brown

These are just same names I found from sources like OverTheCap and PFF....not an extensive or researched list.

If we want to go all out, there are plenty of options.

Draft
In our first round slot...lots of corners, some OL
Second round slot - lot of OL, couple DL and a couple WR

And you know Jerry will try to make a deal for someone injured, like Jordan Travis.

Do you think for one minute that Brady would have won all those superbowls without Belichick? Give Bill credit for building those teams around Brady.
Guess we will never know but I do know without him he hasn't looked so smart and his drafting and free agent signings have been very mediocre in the past 5 years.

How did Landry do after white was gone?
BB set up arguably the greatest dynasty in the history of the NFL and some morons think it was all the QB
He had a great run. Dallas could have been the greatest if not for the Jones/Johnson feud. Kansas City is building a pretty damned nice one too.

You're going to get starting quality DT's, good LB's, a starting quality RB, young OL's who can play, and a true FS all in one offseason? Tell me how, Jerry, tell me how.

Yeah, I don't know how OP interprets this as "we're all in and still believe in Dak"

Sounds like "We're getting tired of this #$*! and this is his absolute last shot" to me.
The fact he isn’t talking about extension and thad it’s about a “holistic” approach and MM has one year left and Dak has room to grow outside the scheme (can’t blame the scheme anymore) and they are going all in seems to point to the fact he’s going to give it once last run and than blow it up.. and let’s not forget all the shade thrown at Dak by the players families..

Jerry believes in Dak, but I wonder does Dak believe in Dak.

I don't believe in Dak to lead us to a Superbowl, but without him, we're probably a 6 or 7 win team. Are we willing to tough out a few losing seasons to get it right?

I honestly don't know.....
