Well, here I am again with Yamasaki

https://www.bardown.com/x-league-kicker-takeru-yamasaki-hits-73-yard-field-goal-with-ease-1.1491655

He hit a 73 yard kick with ease back in 2020

As for more kickers for me to check out, here is a list of the All Stars leading up to the Rice Bowl, which I'm going to try to watch on YouTube to try to scout more kickers. https://www.___GET_REAL_URL___/s/ww...22-x1-super-all-x-league-teams-announced/amp/

I should note that the Rice Bowl is basically the Japanese version of the Super Bowl. Looks like the kicker that made their all-star list is Shintaro Saeki from the Panasonic Impulse. I'll have to try to catch some videos of him. However, I think that Yamasaki and Saeki should be brought in for try outs to see what they can do. I think either could make an interesting addition at kicker for us.

Nope. If you’re having to use stats then you may be missing the point. Remember how everyone keeps touting Dak’s awesome stats (most people ignored they were from beating a lot of bad teams). So Dak has awesome stats and faces a real defense against San Fran and he crumbles. Kellen Moore’s offense has some great stats the last 2 years. He goes up against San Fran and it falls apart. It loses Pollard and can’t adjust. Many vids after the game dissected his poor play design and play calling. Stats mean nothing. So let’s keep Maher based on his great stats and take a chance he screws us in the playoffs again next year. He has a history: he can play great during the season and without warning misses easy kicks in the most important games. That’s your justification for bringing him back. Jerry got this right.
Dak didn't fall apart against the Eagles or the Bucs in the playoffs.

This is three kickers in 13 years that developed the Yips out of nowhere.

I’m convinced this franchise is cursed.

So, I've watched the above video. This is the highlight video from the Rice Bowl game that was played. Firstly, it looks like the Japanese are getting better. I've been watching their league for almost 10 years now, and they're getting better. Secondly, looks like the kickers make their XPs (I know it says 22-21 at one point, but I suspect the Fujitsu Frontiers attempted to go for 2 to try to make it 24-21). The Frontiers kicker drilled one that had a lot of leg under it. From what I gathered, his name is Kojo Nasho #5 (https://sports.jp.fujitsu.com/frontiers/players). This was from the 3rd of January. I must say, if we are looking for a new kicker, I think we have some options. Nasho and Saeki made their kicks (including XPs, which was a problem towards the end for Maher), and I've been on the Yamasaki train for a while. I think we should seriously bring these 3 in for a look. They could be a find at kicker.

Now this was a wise move. You cannot trust Brett Maher, after his meltdown in the playoffs. If you did, you'd have that as a distraction on your mind the whole game. His meltdown already changed the outcome against the 9ers. Had he been on the money, like the regular season, there's a good chance they win that game.
wait. what? cowboys lost the SF because our QB threw two awful INTs. Let's not deflect the blame over to Maher.
