said he "probably got a little out over my skis, thinking just plug those guys in."

So he is admitting he is the real coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

He shouldn't be thinking about plugging "anyone" in.. the coach should be.

You do your job Mr GM.. then let the coaches decide who starts.

Only a football moron like Jerry would lump Beebe in with Guyton.

Beebe's had a few growing pains but has been a pretty solid and ascending starter as a rookie. Guyton looks like he can't play. I mean, the guys being subbed out for Chuma Edoga on a weekly basis, for crying out loud.
Only a moron would judge a player after only one season.....ohhh, just realized who is was responding too....carry on.

Alot of people didn't know that. There were some posters that swore we got better despite letting starters walk and replacing them with draft picks
Unfortunately, that's part of the salary cap, game. Good players move on all the time, from all teams. Would those rooks have looked better with Pollard, a mobile Dak, another top receiver, or if JJ had gone all in?....we'll never know...nothing to cry about...just the reality of the game.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan when talking about rookie offensive linemen Tyler Guyton and Cooper Beebe, said he "probably got a little out over my skis, thinking just plug those guys in."

Guyton was drafted to replace LT Tyron Smith. Beebe replaced center Tyler Biadasz. Jones said he thinks both rookies have done well, but added: "We've paid the price to some degree."

LOL.

No duh.

Think he'll learn from this that counting on rookies to plug a lot of holes is a bad idea? Of course he won't. He'll sit out FA again and then tell us how great the draft class is and how it will fix what ails us.

Welp, I guess he will go now against OL rookies as scapegoats. Haven’t seen really the games but Guyton doesn’t look like a ready player. I mean is very very hard to play LT, but pulling him out doesn’t look too promising.

Yah. The struggles we are having are because of rookie OL. Sure.

Let’s not talk about the fact we signed Zeke, refused to draft a RB, add a legit #2 WR (or any significant FA besides Kendricks), bungle the Lance and Mingo trades, and strike out on several key draft selelctions over the last few years.

Yah. Go ahead and blame Guyton who everyone who knew anything about the player or football knew was a developmental prospect with traits.

Good job Jer
Yeah let's put the rookie OL at the end of the issue line of the '24 Dallas Cowboys.

Oh. So you can’t just plug and play rookies for hall of fame caliber players and expect no drop off?

I mean. How could Jerry have known?

Maybe Jerry should consult us bc last spring a few dozen posters saw the problem of replacing Tyron Smith with a rookie project and Biadez with a rookie who had never played center.

Jerry: We've paid the price to some degree starting two rookie OL

By saying we've, Jerry clearly means the fans. He and his spawn haven't paid the price for anything. This will be particularly true if our estute GM whiffed on Guyton. Not clear why Guyton is getting mental health breaks instead of reps but I wasnt consulted.

Guyton is a rookie and we knew he needed work.

Edoga is a vet who knows his way around.

So it's a apples and oranges comparison.

Maybe I'm in the minority but didn't think the rookies played that poorly. Guyton has been up and down but Bebe had been solid.

The biggest concern on the oline for me is how far Martin dropped off and how shaky Steele has looked for a good chunk of the season.
The oline was terrible the 1st half of the season and Guyton was the biggest reason why
