I guess we've officially gotten to the point where even hidden camera vids like this are "news" with the mainstream outlets.

Is there any way you could get channel 8... Hansen is going to have an absolute field day with this.

How exactly is this NOT news? You have the most prolific owner of the most prolific team in the NFL on camera calling out our former coach and essentially saying he was trying to pull a fast one on folks in order to get his new stadium.

Sorry, but when you're a billionaire celebrity, you can't go around flapping your gums to some Tebow-infatuated moron at a bar. In this day and age, cameras are rolling everywhere. And you're damn right its news whenever any ol' camera happens to catch something interesting.

Yeah, his comments about Tebow are nothing to get excited about. It's odd how interested the camera guy is in trying to get him to talk about Tebow. Jerry's sentence of "He wouldn't get on the field here" can clearly have the parentheticals (because we have one of the league's best quarterbacks) added to the end.

However, it is pretty appalling for him to say what he said about Parcells. I realize he didn't know he was being filmed, but still. It's also disturbing in a sense that I think it clearly shows that Jerry is just fine with his yes men coaching the team, but knew he had to make the one exception to get the stadium. That's discouraging.

The obvious bright side: No one currently on the team was bashed. I'm glad the phrase, "Roy Williams isn't worth a blank" wasn't uttered.

Out of curiosity but aren't videos like Kennedy's assassination, Rodney King's beating, et al considered news even though they are amateur shot videos?

News is whatever makes people interested. Look at this thread in comparison to any other today. This is news.

Rainman, I'm not saying that it isn't news... But there was a time not too long ago when not just any cell phone vid would be aired like that. Maybe they'd read a transcript, or just describe how he was drunk and trashed everyone, but they wouldn't pull a grainy vid like that off the web and show it to the world... They'd leave that to the TMZs of the world. But obviously, now they'll show it.

To be clear, in no way am I excusing Jerry for what he said.

As Hos says, amateur-shot videos have always had their place in any newscast. Not to sound trite, but cell-phone videos weren't aired "not too long ago" because well, cell-phone videos didn't even exist not too long ago. But for as long as they have, they've been part of newscasts when pertinent. Why wouldn't you air the clip in this case?

He says Tebow would never see the field here, Romo was a miracle, and Bill Parcells wasn't worth a (four letter expletive) and he only brought him in so he could get a new stadium, because he knew people were getting tired of him hiring "yes men."

I always knew Parcells sucked!

Maybe I'm wrong, but the difference is that in the past those amateur videos could be traced as to who took them or at least owned them, and the station got permission to use them. This is pretty new territory where you pull a vid off the internet having absolutely no clue who took it or where it came from. It's a little dicey now with the way vids can be edited so well by almost anyone. I mean, if that vid had been a little more blurry and the audio a little less clear, you couldn't even be 100% positive it was really Jerry.

It was just a commentary on the line news outlets are having to walk these days. I wasn't even commenting on the nature of what Jerry said.

This is so overblown. He said Tebow wouldn't see the field and he couldn't get him out there if Jerry drafted him. Meaning he wouldn't because of Romo. The Parcells stuff sounded like a joke or something. This much ado about nothing. Just be glad he didn't say something about race or sexual preference because that is usually what happens in these drunken interviews.

I don't think he was kidding around about what he said about Parcells,or any other thing he said.He was drunk,he didn't think anyone would be filming or taping him.

I watched the vid before it was pulled. Don't worry, it wasnt Jerry Jones. It was someone who sounded like him.

Wishful thinking! I hate to tell you,but that was Jerry Jones.This isn't the first time Jerry has got drunk and said what he shouldn't say.That's how we lost our 2 time super bowl winning coach.Since Jerry was being so honest,I wish they would have asked him more draft questions.
