To me where he did no real harm, no one was fired, quit, or shot; then this is a matter of letting "he who has no sin cast the first stone", if you have never been intoxicated, or high and somewhere and let your alligator mouth over load your humming bird a**, then you should be on this thread raising sand, however if you have done any of those things, then you have no room to condemn JJ.....................

Jerry is one of the biggest reason this team won three Super Bowls in the 1990s.

Thank God he let Jimmy and the staff make most of the football decisions in those first few years, instead of him making the decisions like he has the last 15, or else we wouldn't have those three Super Bowls in the '90s.

I agree with this. However, if you're going to credit Jerry for the successes, you must also fault him for the failures.

The NFL is not static. Successful philosophies and approaches change over time. And Jerry had a very difficult time adjusting at the end of the 1990s and beginning of the 2000s.

This past season marked the greatest leap in progress I've seen in this team in over a decade. I only hope Jerry can maintain it. Unfortunately, this video has cast a cloud over that hope.

Part of that was being in cap hell like we were. Not many complained when he resigned big name players who had helped us win SB but as some of these player got injured and forced to leave the game their cap cost was still there that was one of the main reason why we looked for players at cheap cost like Ryan Leaf and Drew Henson these were low cost players with little risk long term. I will also say that we took some chances that did not help matters and that falls on Jerry.

Just like every other owner and GM.

I suppose you have definative proof which decisions Jimmy made, and which ones Jerry made, right?

Lemme guess . . . Jimmy made the really good ones and Jerry made the bad ones.

How's that Fan Rebellion thing working for you?

Which is why you need to be careful when you are out in public.

Especially when you are the owner, president and general manager of a great sports franchise. There are different rules for different people.

Tons of people think Kanye West is a jack-***, but when the President of the United States says it (even if it's off the record), it's a bigger deal.

Let me ask everyone this and please try to answer honestly.

If this was a tape of any other owner drunk and talking about coaches and/or players would it be as big a deal? Maybe.

Of this was a tape of any other NFL GM drunk and talking about coaches/and or players would they still have a job?

True, anytime something does not work in our favor that is all Jerry but when it does go as hoped that is someone else.

Depends who that GM was and who the owner was. You have 32 owners do you think the 31 other owners all think alike? Do you think the success of that GM would make a difference or the lack of success would something like that be the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Or for some of you, those three Super Bowls were Jerry's doing while you all just making excuses why we have one lone playoff win since '96.

I take the good with the bad . . . as a fan, I've witnessed 3 Super Bowl championships. Most NFL fans would kill be say that.

Jerry's doing one hell of a job with the team now . . .

Our future is pretty bright, it's really putting a damper on your billboard collection efforts, isn't it?

Does this mean we have a new stadium sponsor?

LOL, that has to be the nicest way I have ever seen someone say "He had a long stretch of drafting failures that would make Matt Millen blush even as he traded top picks away for so-so WRs" I have ever seen.

Well done! :)

Pre-Bill Jerry was a terrible GM and Drinking Jerry was completely right - he never would have gotten this stadium with 4 more years of 5-11 awefullness. And he clearly knew it.

IMO, no it would not and rightfully so. No other owner puts himself out there in the spotlight like Jerry does. If the glare is blinding he has no one else to blame for this. He craves the spotlight and attention. You can't do that, stick your foot in your mouth, and then cry foul when people react. This is the reality he has created for this team.

True and Jerry changed how we would draft player and acquire players and sorry BP was not the last word on those picks there were times BP was over ruled. I think Ireland being hired and Jerry knowing and saying we had to change how we do business made a big difference.

Nope. I still think Jerry is dead wrong.

I just also think your continuing witch hunt for your fellow fans is too.

Objecting to ChrisinSoCal's moral equivalence argument amounts to a "witch hunt"? And to think you chastised Alex for "sensationalism." Welcome back, passive-aggressive guy.

Yep, I know what you mean. Those first few years of good and then all the rest of those bad years once Jerry starting making the football decisions.

But yeah, at least he did hire BP which helped get the mess turned around, even though his main reason for doing so was to get the new stadium. But even so, it was good to see us start going in the right direction. Lucking into a decent undrafted QB didn't hurt either.
